Good News Story
Scenario:
Just started a new job. Long commute. Longer hours. Leave early. Home late. Etc... I had carpooled out with a buddy yesterday. Wife calls me in the morning to tell me she was driving the 944 and pulled over because she suddenly heard something dragging up front. She took a look under the front end and describes something round on the road, still connected to the car via some wires. She says she can make out "Bosch" and "12V". Me, being the eternal pessimist that I am, think somehow my alternator has come disconnected at the pivot bolt and is now haning by the harness and the adjustment rod. Thoughts start racing... How serious is it really? How much to fix it? How long to fix it? Etc...
Get home tonight to find that my wife had coordinated with our insurance company for the recovery and delivery back to the house. I can just make out the alleged item resting on the ground, connected to wires as reported. With great anxiety I kneel and look under the front end to see......... MY HORN!!!
What a wonderful sense of relief!!! In retrospect, I found it humorous that her description of what she saw could actually apply to both the alternator and the horn, and I naturally just jumped to the worst conclusion.
All's well that ends well. Though y'all might get a kick out of it. I know I did!

Now, could anyone by chance send a quick pic of where the horn actually belongs? Got a couple of hours free today (amazingly!) and I want to remount the horn so I can drive her again!
TIA!

Got it! Mounted up and ready to roll again. Although I believe the horn may have suffered damage while bouncing along on the road as it sounds a bit feeble now!
Thanks!

Perfect excuse to replace them with the dual trumpet Fiamm horns that have their own compressor. I had them on my 240z and they're outstanding. I'm planning on a set for my 87. You'll love em. Real Italian Super Car sounds.
