Default installed my rennbay shift boot!

i installed my rennbay shift boot a couple weeks ago but i finally got around to taking pics of it tonight. the quality is excellent and install, while frustrating, was not terribly difficult. it really makes the interior look much nicer and it feels nice when i shift through the gears. also took a couple more pics while i was out there.

Looks great! You know what's a neat little project while your doing stuff with the shifter, that I did last month? Take model paint in the color of your car and a toothpick and paint the gear diagram(or whatever it's called) on the shifter ****, looks great!

thanks!! i worked hard to get the big wrinkles out of it where the leather tucks into the shift pattern. after several attempts, this was the best i could do...especially when the stitching came apart. you'll notice a larger than the rest bulge on the side towards the dash.. a small price to pay i guess. i'll order another one down the road and try again. but for now i'm more than pleased with Travis's exemplary shipping and great products!

i'm into stock/oem restorations and i wanted this car to be brought back to life and be 100% oem. the price on the beet/**** combo new was outrageous.. this was $50 shipped! i couldn't pass up the price and the learning experience of doing this myself.

Nice job you've done, may I give you a little sugestion without getting slap on the hands, remove that piece of carpet in your console & try to find a piece of leather which will match your interior. Here is a pic of what I did on my ex 944,the leather being lot thiner it will look better. But once again it's a question of taste.

nice job ernie, that looks OEM.

personally, i like my carpet. my sunglasses fit right between my radio and shifter. the carpet keeps them in place and prevents scratching.

About that, when I replaced my center console I never put the carpet back. I don't mind the black plastic but should probably someday do something. That's a cool idea with the leather

Ernie, very cool idea with the leather. i think it looks really nice! i am however with thirdgenbird.. i put my cell phone or glasses between the sunroof switch and loudspeaker balance control roller and the carpet keeps them firmly in place..though leather probably would do the same thing and look just as nice.

i also find it funny how many passengers comment about the carpet around the shifter.

lol, my wife heckles the carpet.. calls it the 944's "landing strip". i like it... its vintage and i'm freaking stuck in the 80's so it fits, lol.
