But I have no more money to spend on cars!

I have learned that car payments suck, and driving a 911 is freaking awesome all in one month.

We can start a "Get Karl a 944" donation fund. I'd love that!

A dollar or two a day can go a long way.

jmtot (just my take on this) 3 driver fail....

944 guy nearly understeers himself to a premature death....

camera guy driving a 944 that goes too slow.... and then cutting off a Sirocco.

and the Sirocco driver for trying to squeeze in between a slow 944 and the wall....

My goal this year is to simplify the car quite a bit (mainly engine bay) without going crazy/gutting it. I'm thinking... club sport.

Thats a long list indeed...
Here is mine..

Red 924 turbo GTS body:
This year:
-It seems i'm starting to get the hot start problem on this car so i have to sort that out this year...probably just the accumulator completely dieing out.

Next year: ?
-I've been saying i need to change the clutch for ages now...maybe next year.
-If i replace the clutch, i also have to replace the TT bearings
-If i remove the TT i also have to rebuild the diff as it rubmles at idle and on low rpms.

Blue 932:
-Rebuild a set of 7J x 15" cookie cutters for it
-find a set of pistons and close the engine

Maybe buy an automatic 924 NA

I know it's off topic, but I feel it is my duty as a human to share....

As I enjoy my twilight years, I am often struck by the inevitability that the party must end. There will be a clear, cold morning when there isn't any "more." No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat.

It seems to me that one of the important things to do before that morning comes, is to let every one of your family and friends know that you care for them by finding simple ways to let them know your heartfelt beliefs and the guiding principles of your life so they can always say, "He was my friend, and I know where he stood."

So, just in case I'm gone tomorrow, please know this:

I voted against that incompetent, lying, flip-flopping, insincere, double-talking, radical socialist, terrorist excusing, bleeding heart, narcissistic, scientific and economic moron currently in the White House!

Participating in a gun buy-back program because you think that criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbors have too many kids.

Regards,

Clint

please email to all....

please forward to all your friends....

Warning from the Police.

This is not a joke: it's about a new trick used to commit a crime:

START TO GET INTO THE HABIT OF "REVERSE PARKING "

READ AND UNDERSTAND WHY YOU MUST GET INTO THE HABIT OF REVERSE PARKING

Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public car lot. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for gasoline. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car. Then we received this email.

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--

You walk across a lot to your car, unlock your car, and get inside.

You start the engine and put it into Reverse....

When you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you stop and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically run you over as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW CARJACKING SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, lock your doors and just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail.. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women.

A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Please forward to your family/friends.

yep, just when you thought this thread was getting dull,

it stands up and delivers.

I'm somewhat ambivalent about this, as i can't help but think if this were really true, it'd be in our gas already.... but, I'm hopeful that a 10~15% increase in fuel economy might be possible. would help pay for those long 3~6 gears.

increased hp;

mixing in Acetone in small amounts appears to promote increased fuel economy, but I'm still quite unsure exactly in what ratios combustibles can be used for increasing the octane rating or hp without detonation or burning up the engine.

we know about the use of this exotic fuel called Nitromethane used in drag racing.

background; http://www.hotrod.com/feature_storie...y/viewall.html

but, we can run a less-explosive formula of Nitro for our street cars: a gasoline mixable version of Nitromethane, called Nitropropane that carries 2 free oxygen atoms per molecule. you heard that right; liquid Nitrous Oxide!! the stuff isn't really new. seams there's a long history of race teams using this stuff to cheat back in the day for short qualifying runs or to use exotic mixes in rally racing dating back over 50 years.

I'm optimistic about the possibility of finding a possible mixture of pump gas, acetone and nitro-propane or other combination of combustibles [link] http://www.turbofast.com.au/racefuel15.html
to boost octane, but nitro with it's increased oxygen seems to hold significant promise for a 10~15% hp gain without changing compression with the requirement being running larger injectors and tuning.... amazing.

nitro-propane by itself requires mixing with 93~100+ octane gasoline....

I always run 3oz acetone per 10 gal petrol in my cars and bike, even in my lawnmower.
When I replaced a headgasket (wife overheated car) on a 225K mile Civic, the valves, chambers, piston tops were spotless.
Acetone is a propane molecule with an oxygen molecule attached. Liquid turbo propane anyone. I have seen quite a few cars with bad cats pass smog easily on a 5-6oz./ 10 gal petro mixture. It also restores the power on carbed bikes when you ride to higher elevations (trip to Colo. comes to mind) due to low O2 in the atmosphere.

I admire this guy's effort, courage and skills...

but he could have just saved $12 k each year for 4 years, and had himself a real one.

Thanks for that acetone tip. I'll do some experimenting.

951:
Fuel lines from the engine bay back. New pump and new filter.
Brake lines and caliper rebuild. New booster.
Timing belts and all the fun stuff that goes with it. Water pump rebuild if needed. Seals as needed.
Replace/repair exhaust headers and system.
Change form Autothority to Vitesse.
New bushings all around and replacement suspension parts as needed. M030 parts preferred.
Left front fender bumper and nose panel replacement (someone welded the panels together when they were fixing it...). Going to get vented nose panel.

All that leads me to the frame welding that seems to be from a repair but is very pitted and rusting. Either way and no matter the source I have to address and fix that before any of this above stuff is going to be any good.

'99 Honda Accord lx 286,xxxxmi:
Reseal rear main and oil pump. Rebuild/Replace oil pump. May just separate the block and head and send them off for clean and refurbish. I have to see vs. price of a JDM used honda motor.
Injectors and fuel rail rebuild. Replace the needed fuel lines. Fuel pump rebuild and filter replace.
Caliper rebuild while I do the hubs. New hoses where applicable.
Shocks and struts.
Intake of some kind.

boys and girls: 4 things we'll be learning today.....

1. this is why you all need to dump your cruddy 225mm front rubber for 255~265s that will hold you in...

2. there's YT video somewhere of Walter Röhrl doing sick drift at about 130~140 mph in a Carrera GT.

3. make sure you watch ALL THREE videos.
4. what a way to use up the old rubbers....
