I ask with what b/c miller performance know for motronic maf conversions for bmw's makes a true maf code conversion using a 28 pin dme and a Bosch sensor for $400. In full disclosure however they reprogram the Bosch maf for the 944 use so you can't just go buy that part number sensor AND they don't use 3D maps at wot. I personally like rogue's approach with all mods in the software code so that we can go buy our parts at advance auto 10 years from now when a sensor goes out instead of converting back to afm. But point being will it be competitive with a $300 afm or his competition besides vitesse.

A few things to consider when doing a MAF or MAP conversion and why looking at various vendors is important IMO.
1) is this secondary in the linupe of products? Ie; has this been load tested on a dyno to not only have a smooth acceleration curve but also to add timing where beneficial and pull timing as well. I know this is the plan with Rogue's NA setup. Or is it just to replace the AFM?
2) what uprgades can be done in the future? When limiting yourself to just emulating the stock AFM transfer function you do not leave yourself much headroom in the way of future mods ie; supercharged, turbo, VE improvements, larger injectors, E85,etc... I know Josh is taking some of these into consideration when designing this chip
3) how helpful will the vendor be in the future? I am not aware of anyone else who has just outright given so much tuning information directly to the public without charge like Josh has.
IMO just taking the time to make improvements/advancements on such a specialized vehicle is really saying something and I applaud all that do. I just know first hand that Josh is an enthusiast first and foremost and these are just products of the enthusiasm. I also know that Josh prides himself on being thorough and his character is very representative of a strong military leader that could never be questioned. With all of these attributes I certainly feel we are very fortunate to have such dedication in our little world. And with that said I know where I'd spend my money

Dyno sheet is here.

If another company can get this kind of gain out of a MAF setup with 2d wot maps, I cant wait to find out what Rogue comes up with. 30lb/ft of tq gain below 3200 rpm is unimaginable. Can't wait for SD-tune!!!

They stated the reason for the large tq differential was due to the transmission kicking down to a lower gear. I would be quite surprised to that large of a gain, ceteris paribus.

Yep, not long until I will have the SD-Tune ready!
Here is another quick video, this time with the J-Boot removed. With the SD-Tune, the engine intake is a LOT louder!
