Default Quick shout out to Pelican Parts

Dear Pelican,

Not only did you have the cheapest 951 radiator I came across, but also your packaging and quick (and free!) shipping have been amazing. I've done plenty of business with you all before, but this is the icing on the cake. I was surprised to return home and have a translucent/clear oblong shaped thing leaning against my door. Upon closer inspection, this mass of bubble wrap had shipping labels, and was covered in "Fragile" stickers. It rarely takes me 15 minutes to unpack a box, especially when Porsche parts are at stake, but this took me about 20... using a knife. inside after digging for some time (thought I'd reach china), I finally got to a box containing my radiator. I remove it, and not only is it pristine in every way (as a new radiator should be), but it's the correct one. again, well played. you do better than the parts guys at the dealership I work with! and they just have to walk in back!

I will shop there again. Bravo on the service, the packing, the fast shipping, and the low prices.

-Geoff

The bubble was on the outside of the box? In my 17 years in the packaging business I've never designed a package, or seen a customer ship a package that way. Not a bad idea for an extra layer of protection, just not ever seen it.

Spencer, Pelican is for the most part a non-stocking distributor of other companies products. They ship from places like San Francisco and Rancho Cucamonga....far removed from the El Segundo call center. Don't get me wrong, this is actually a good thing. This allows them a much lower margin.

Heck, I love Pelican. I can go to my dealer and pay an additional 40% and burn my own gas, or I can call Pelican and get the same exact OEM part delivered within the exact same time frame.

Most boxes I get are labeled Pelican and come from Carson, CA. But they do have an excellent setup going on. I shudder to think what I would be paying if I bought anything from a dealer, ever.

I buy a ton of stuff at the dealer, often times less than I can get it from Pelican or Paragon, but that's just because I've got a hookup there. I shop around, sometimes Pelican and Paragon are cheaper, sometimes not. in the case of a radiator, $200.00 cheaper!

It makes sense, I just don't see it. I'm assuming large bubble with bubbles to the inside. Sounds like it would work.

....and here is what lead me to Pelican....

I believe it was post #4 that sealed the deal.

I've ordered items from them that I could have gotten through the local dealer mainly for the online convenience and not wanting to waste my time driving across town. Pelican service has always been tops.

No, It was post #4. When Spence said that one of the filters looked like a 944 filter i was so insulted that I chucked that filter and never looked back.
