Default A tiny part fell and disappeared into my engine bay...

There is, what looks like, some type of sensor that attaches to the fuel rail. It is about 4 inches away from the firewall. I was cleaning my engine and my sleeve hit it...and of course made the top of it pop off. No...it couldn't just fall on to the ground...it vanished. There is now a 3 prong end exposed...what is this?

Damn don't you hate when that happens? I had the wire clip on the ref sensor connector do that and only found it a year later, after selling the car. The replacement wasn't available at the dealer and I had to pay 5 bucks as a favor for replacement.

Porsche hates us...the engineers are passive-aggressive.

Its about 3 inches away from the o2 sensor hub...towards the passenger side. There is a clip that attaches it to the fuel rail.

I believe you'll find it's actually attached to the chain hook on the end-cap of the cam box. That is a plug for a Porsche factory diagnostic sensor.

It sounds like your talking about this:

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...dc-sensor.html

If so -it doesn't serve much of a function... If you bend a metal coat hanger into a hook, you should be able to get it...

basically it just goes to another sensor near the ref sensors- no power is hooked to this and it is just for factory use. I usually just pull that sensor and pitch it.
