944S2 custom intake installation. PICTURES attached.
I installed a cone intake system but was not happy with the results in SOUND!! wich is all I wanted it for. Materials used are plumping pipe from your local hardware store, and K&N cone filter. Pics below. So I took the front panel off my stock intake system and got a wicked sound! Really agressive. Hard to say if the performance gain is there or not. That sound makes it sound like there is HP gain, but its all in my mind. Enjoy. Sorry no pics of my stock airfilter with the K&N.

Thats pretty slick! I don't think I've ever seen this done before.
How about a vented nose panel? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Travis, someone with an S2 a while ago posted a wicked shot of a HUGE cone filter taking up that whole space, only it was laying perfectly horizontal with the front, and taking up almost the whole front end.
Does anyone else remember that mod?

About the vented nose panels, I've seen 944's with a 924 turbo nose panel installed. I don't know if this is a straightforward swap, I believe the 924 turbo nose panel is partially spot welded were as the 944 nose panel is only held on by bolts and screws.

The 924T nose won't fit without some major modification. Lots of places sell fiberglass slotted noses for 951's. They would be a perfect fit but the quality is poor (just ask Perry951). Your best bet is to have the slots cut into your existing panel. That way there are no fitment or paint issues. You could find a local body shop to do it or send it off to SFR.

wouldn't that be sweet if you could hinge that nose panel from the back, fill up the inside with a big cone filter, and have it open up from the front on a speed sensor. So it would be like the faster you go the more it opens but at a redlight or something it looks stock.

you would have to do some reinforcing .. do your headlights blow off at high speeds when there up?
Also, it wouldnt have to raise up that much, maybe just 3"-6" at the front.
I am not going to run out and do this or anything I just thought it would be a funny idea.
