I have been sidetracked on other projects. I did a couple of fiberglass positives of the rear glass to try out some ideas. Still on the fence with which way I will go. Either fiberglass or plexiglass.
Of course.....if by some miracle someone here has some good experience with carbon fiber PLEASE chime in. A carbon fiber glass replacement would be great.
Good news is it is NOT a dead issue for my my car, the GT carbon fiber wing waits patiently in the back of the shop.
A pic of it just sitting on another 944 just to give me an idea of looks early on.

<< or someone make one of those, ditch the factory spoiler.
a subtle roof spoiler would be nice too idk.
If someone could photoshop the edge-line of the rear flares leading into a ducktail spoiler (flares integrated with spoiler?), i think it would look pretty nice on our 944's. it would be like an extension of line that sits under our current wing. so it wouldn't be attached to the glass. I think that'd be an easy/subtle change in the look that might look factory if done subtly enough
try to imagine a smallish one that extends just as far as the rear bumper. (not the yellow lines; the lines of the car that the yellow lines are pointing at)

I moved away from this idea when I got my IFC hatch and added the CF GT wing. Eventually I will do some fiberglass work to add/modify what I have so far, and I like some of Tabbasco's ideas.

I'm not a fan of all the fiberglass hatches out there, they all seem to mess up most of your storage room

Hey, I just noticed the first photoshop of my car I think I've seen here : https://rennlist.com/forums/8116261-post74.html - gemini grey car at the top. Nice work.
The hatch idea is interesting if you could reduce weight - but then a polycarbonate hatch would be just as good in that regard. For racers a carbon copy (pardon the pun) would be good - it could be pretty thin due to the shape & frame.
Personally, I'm leaving that alone - but I am going to attach a "gurney flap" around the back of the rear spoiler - similar to the fibreglass LM spoiler I've seen. I just wonder if screws into the rubber will be enough...
