that pesky crease. (removal of front fender)
Drives me bonkers every time i see it. Are the fenders glued and bolted or just bolted? I'd like to take it off and do the body work and get it back to shape.

Taking the fender off is a bit of a PITA. The hard part is cutting through the undercoating at the seams, a good work knife and a sore arm should do the trick. You also need to deal with the charcoal canister and antenna on that side, which makes it a little less fun.
Not a big deal, but not as easy as just loosening the bolts either.

I didn't find it that bad: remove all the bolts (including the three which are hiding under the undercoating on the inside, up against the door and the one which connects the fender to the header panel) and then peel carefully. You'll need to cut the undercoating / seam sealer underneath by the headlight bucket so that you don't crack your paint trying to free the fender.

Hello, Check out the thread below on Fender Removal. Near the bottom is a picture of where all the bolts are located.

Did it this weekend too, both sides as we change to a turbo nose. Just get 24" extension with a universal on it. Unbolt the fender from the top, turn the wheel to the same side as you are working on to move the tire in at the back, then pull it out slightly up by the headlight. Then pull the inner fender out a bit to fit your arm in and find the bolts and uncrew the bolts from the bottom up.

Yep, I'm on several forums. Get a Hawk Nose Knife (Carpet Knife) to cut down the sealer on the inside of the fender. If the fender has never been removed before it is put on with Gorilla Glue and wads of sealer at the fender/door joint. They did not take any chances it would rust. You can use a propane torch and heat up the socket and push it on the nut for removal.

If your fender "slipped right off", it was removed before. And don't try and peel it off... the undercoating and glue bond will be stronger than the torsional strength of fender and you'll crease it badly.

Yea I know its been off before. the car was in an accident. Taking the bumper off I looked at the bottom of my nose panel and they is bondo everywhere. I just popped the dent out on the fender and I putting bondo on to fill the little cracks in then im painting that little section.
