BTW wanted to buy a Vette... can you say manifold oil leak? Nothing a few tubes of silicone will not cure.

Technically, AUDI and Volkswagon make great cars IMHO

Well, I was thinking corn, but more along the lines of the kind you see after you poop. Or maybe a peanut.

The history of the 924/944/968 line has been well documented, and there are lots of nice books out there which discuss this topic. Please inform yourself first, before you start trying to enlighten everyone else with your apparent wealth of knowledge. I believe (*disclaimer*) the only non-Porsche part of the 944 was the transaxle housing (Audi).

Ian,
a bunch of switches came straight from VW.

The original 924 used Golf lower a-arms, super beetle spindles and brakes, late beetle and golf struts and shocks. The rear was almost completely super beetle.

I swiped the above from Jim Pasha's article on 924 944 968 suspension preparation.

I know my gauges are stamped (in the back) VW/Audi

Annoying, but let's face it. Ferraris and Aston's use other peoples off the shelf components. You have to when you have what is a limited production vehicle. I bet the same holds true for the 911's and such.

I mean they don't have Porsche tires do they. Why doesn't Porsche make their own tires!!!!

Following the history logic too, then none of those 200 Mph supercars are true Lambo's

This is a real Lambo (not the little white one in the foreground)

Preventative maintainance is the key-(like JJK's donor of a father should have used a condom and would haved upped the IQ in california)

PIGPILE!!!

FWIW, a higher percentage of parts used on the early 924 carry the logo and numbering scheme of VAG, rather than PAG. Later, with the 944, the tables are turned - however, a very high number of parts are still VAG throughout the history of the 944/968 line. SO WHAT? I don't get the need to defend nor dishonor either for any reason - it's not like we have, or will have, a choice in the matter. Do part numbers and marque stamps have anything to do with the amount of pleasure or displeasure we get from them? I simply don't get the need to criticise, nor defend the history of our cars. There are far more important battles to fight at present, like the Cayenne launch

How about moaning about an American Flag being "made in China"!

Yipeee!!!!!!
Seriously!!!!!
I cracked a STEEL control arm on my race car and since they were lowly VW parts I was able to get a pair of new ones from Paragon for $50 since I did not need the caster block!! Way to go Paragon! Add few bucks and you get new ball joints too!

If those were the Porsche part they would have cost $400 each....

So my wallet has no shame with racing a VW/Audi with Porsche on the back!

HEY!!! JJK of JKK whoever the hell you are: no offense, but you are complete idiot with no intellect.

Why bother posting this to people who love the 944, 924, and 968 cars???

And, do some research before you type. Obviously the cars couldn't be that bad, as they claim one third of Porsche's all time production total.

In 1974, Porshe bought out the 924 project from VW, after a change in ownership. The cars were assembled with Audi machines, with the Porsche quality control team. Everything after that was a complete Porsche venture.

If you ask me, or any other Porshe owner, a front engined 4 cyl. car is a Porsche with a Porsche badge. After all, the say Porsche under the hood, don't they?

Try again JKK.
I believe you were just shut down... about 60 times.

You are an idiot.

Man my bull**** detector is pegged out. On 10/11 this dude posted that he was new on the board and just bought a '90 S2 with a severe oil consumption problem. Now on 10/16 he wants to rag on Porsche because he's got one with a severe oil consumption problem. Here's my guess. Dude doesn't have a Porsche, never did. He's 10,11,12 years old and thought he'd get his gun by ragging our brand. Go back to your Playstation JJK.
