Default My S2... finally.

After several months of work it's almost ready for inspection for my quebec plates. It has spent more time at my mechanics shop then it has at home, or driving it. One session at the track and OMG.... So here is my work in progress pride and joy.

Beautiful car! What all is involved in these inspections, it sounds like much more than just emissions?

The inspection is pretty simple, but with all the problems I had I couldn't get it to the inspection! every time I took it out something would brake. I listed everything I have done so far in the "what have you done to your 944 today thread". So it wasn't really the inspection per-say, it was getting to it the inspection was the problem. The inspection really is to make sure the car complies with Canadian laws (kph on the speedo, day time running lights... etc) and just general mechanical condition of the car, brakes are good, tires are good etc.

not sure, but the PO called it dove blue. I think Baltic is more blue if you know what I mean, either way I love the color.

There should be a color code sticker either near the fuse box or on the option sticker at the back of the hatch area under the carpet...

I believe Dove/Baltic/Marine Blue in '89 are all the same color.

The car looks beautiful! Hope to see it in person some day soon!

did you get the windows working yet?

Is the airbag light turning on for 5 seconds after you turn the key? It will need to do this to pass the SAAQ inspection this is the reason I failed first time.

Beautiful car! What all is involved in these inspections, it sounds like much more than just emissions?
BTW they don't even check emissions at all. They check most everything else and depending on who does the inspection they can be quite tough.

gorgeous car. Its in the best colour too!

It looks like Baltic blue . My previous 1990 S2 was Baltic Blue my current car (1989) is Dove Blue and there is a surprisingly distinct perceived difference.
I find the Dove Blue slightly lighter and a more vibrant hue than the baltic Blue.

The paint colour code label is behind the carpet on the rear valance below the hatch lock .
Dove blue is LM5P

Look forward to hearing you are on-the-road.

I know this is off topic and going to sound like a silly question but i've got to know . Do your residential roads not have pavements for pedestrians to walk on ? Mothers ,kids on bikes etc
I've always loved the way your beautifully kept front lawns sweep down the the kerb and your roads are lined with trees in the States, unlike the untidy mess we have here in Britain with most front lawns full of rubbish and derelect cars.
