Sooo, lesson learned: If you run onto a reflector or a sign post and your front end is not damaged. Stop, dont move it, and run to the nearest hardware store. Buy a sledge hammer. Go back and bend that sucker all the way to the ground. Then back up. Good to go!

What's the url for the company that makes 951 fiberglass panels? This will be a good time to upgrade.

That is all pretty easy to repair. Nothing major really. Sure it could be totalled by insurance just because the don't know how to fix it. Heck I ran my 944 spec race car into a tire wall at 40 mph. Minor damage that I repaired in an afternoon. The worst part was pushing the radiator back, but a little bending and supports are back in the right spot.

Totally depends on your insurance company. I hope you don't have Progressive. They won't deal with used or aftermarket parts at all, only new factory (EXPENSIVE !!) parts. I've heard of some being totaled just for having to replace the windshield, which can be done for just over $500 installed in Socal.

GOOD LUCK

The mechanic called in an adjuster. He quoted for the following: both fenders because they were bent at the mounting points for the bumper cover, a new bumper cover, new bat wing, new fog lights, light wiring, new blinkers, new header panel, new bumper shocks, new bumper, all of the plastic cowls up front, inner fender well and a few other odds and ends

i wouldnt even bother with the wiring, the plastic bits and the fender well...

bumper shocks should be like $20 a pair...if they will let you use used parts, do it and save money bigtime

The car will be totalled based on that report. However it can be fixed pretty easlily and pretty cheaply with used parts. Had I taken my 944 to insurance post tire wall it would have been totaled. However the car is track only so no insurance at all. Cost to repair it was about $3 and a few hours labor. $3 for the can of paint to deal with front spoiler where I had all paint flake off. I do need to buy some bondo to get the header panel straight and deal with the corners of the fenders, but the front end need a repaint anyway.

That's the plan, I have been talking to the gentleman that operates rennbay and he has offered to sell me all the parts necessary for a very fair price. With the left over money ill get the whole car repainted.
