Thumbs down Totaled or not totaled?

Guys, today has been a rough day and to cap my day off........

I was entering the freeway when I heard a odd sound coming from what I thought was my engine bay (which ended up being a wine from a bad wheel bearing). Anyway I pulled to the side of the on ramp, with the engine on I was about to get out and check under the hood. Before opening my door I looked back and I see a enormous semi truck OVER THE WHITE LINE, headed right for me!

I immediately revved up, dropped the clutch in 1st to avoid the oncoming semi truck.. I figured I was out of harms way until my car wouldnt move even though it was running fine.... I was stuck... Backing up and pulling forward I was finally free, little did I know my front end was damaged.

In the ruckus my front spoiler was ripped off, fog light cracked, turn signal cracked, bumper pushed in on passenger side, bat wing missing, under body engine cover damaged, cracked windshield somehow, airbags did not deploy. After making a police report I packed everything into my dads truck and I drove the 951 home.

I have to turn the wheel far to the left to stay straight now, looking under the car, its now leaking oil from the cooler, power steering fluid, front sway bar is dented pretty good, and the control arm has a ding.

What do you boys think the big bad insurance man will do to my poor 951? I have over $30,000 in records, receipts and modifications.

Getting off the road post did most of it. If its a total loss Ill be calling Lart or fixing it myself.

Are you serious? From the looks of it, it doesn't take much to total one of these beauties if it is totaled.

i just don't see hitting that marker post would be enough to kill your sway bar and control arm.

but even all the parts listed...u'd still prob be looking at under 3g's for repair. why not call a shop and have em do an estimate. then decide if u wanna call insurance about it

That's the plan, I'm getting it dropped off to the body shop tomorrow.

That sucks. I have seen the slightest taps on Audis and they fall apart. Really expensive to fix as well. I hope it is not as bad as it looks. Good luck!

i think it will be fixable, body looks fine, just a few front end tweaks.

not to sound like a vulture but if they arent TOO destroyed, i may be willing to help offset the cost of a new front bumper...

an aftermarket or used bumper would lower the repair costs a lot if that has to be replaced. The oem bumpers are very expensive if i recall.

So in an effort to avoid being hit by a truck from behind you ran into the road marker and caused all that damage??

Really?

V2Rocket, do you have a new front bumper for sale? Mine is just gouged in the paint, cracked, and the mounts to the body cracked off.

I would really like a factory front bumper with the factory bat wing but a factory bumper and a splitter would be nice, Ill wait and see what the insurance company says about the car.

The car is definitely worth keeping, a new engine was installed at 120k.

Getting off of the marker caused the damage, hitting it didn't do much.
