Default Someone remind me...

If I take my keys out of the ignition, and open the door, and the driver's window still goes up, I have a short and I will lose my battery?

Or is this why my passenger window is broken? I've been taking a look at both problems and now I've forgotten how bad it is that the window goes up, even after keys are out.

Thanks.

Yeah...my windows were doing this recently when I disconnected the DS door light switch. I installed a new one and it went away.

Will this drain my battery, slowly, until fixed?

On my car,you can close the drivers window for a short time after you turn the key off. I think it is that way for those of us that are to dumb to close it when the engine is still running.

+1, it is an audi / vw thing... you can close them UNTILL a time limit is reached OR the door is opened..

the windows should NOT work once the door is opened though..

Another neat thing... did you know your sunroof (if adjusted properly) will latch itself once the car is moving (over 3 miles per hour) .... Try it out, 1st key position, retract the arms... start teh car and drive... the arms SHOULD automaically extend into the roof once the car gets above 3 mph...

Unhappy

Ok, washed the car today and went inside to do the interior. Opened door, never put keys in the ignition and the driver's window went down.

That's real bad, right? So it is a short, I assume. But here's the thing: car hasn't been driven in a few days and it started right up. Well, sort of.

I searched through the threads; can someone please point me in the direction of fixing this short. Is this a fix the switch thing or a full pull out the door and get to the window mechanism, or neither?
Can you help me when you say,
its the switch in the door jamb.
Thanks.

Ok, now I'm confused:

The car hadn't been touched in days. Started it up and let it run for about 15 mins or so, then finished cleaning, inside and out.

Two hours later went to take a drive; battery is dead.

?
