Default FS:1991 944S2 Rare motorpsort M030 M220

Also listed in the general mall classifieds. $11,944 Guards red on black power leather seats. 115k miles. Stock class autocross champion.

This is a very rare optioned car, prized by Porsche motorsport enthusiasts. It is estimated less than 100 S2' were factory motorsport optioned as is this car! The total N. American production was 1,650 S2 coupes over it's 3 model year availability. Compare that to the 1,099 production 944 Turbo S' in 1988 & 1989, of which this S2 shares the same upgraded factory chassis: bigger Brembo 928GT / 964 Turbo brakes, oem crimped fenders, wider wheels, adjustable Koni Sport yellow shocks with adjustable ride height, bigger swaybars, harder bushings, etc. I searched 1 1/2 years to find this exact 944 S2! It's only harder to find these now as they get rarer.

Factory new list price was $48,000+. Final 1991 model year for the entire 944 series, which began in 1983. USA model, rare oem motorsports optioned: sport chassis (M030) & limited slip differential (M220).

In this factory configuration, it has the same special chassis upgrades as the 1988 944 Turbo S & 1989 944 Turbo, without the turbo lag & engine reliabilty issues.

Last year of production. 1 of 510 S2 coupes manufactured for N. America in 1991.

3.0 Litre dohc 210+ hp, 207 lb-ft torque, 4 valve per cylinder head, 115k miles, guards red, RWD, manual transmission w/ recent sports clutch, limited slip diff ( option M220 ), oem D90 wheels rare 7.5" & 9.0" x 16", ABS, dual airbags, stock factory adjustable lowered ride height Koni Sport coilover suspension, lightweight at 2875 lbs, custom 3 in. stainless steel cat-back exhaust with new Flowmaster muffler, black leather power seats, sunroof, A/C, P/W, P/L, rear wiper, alarm.

Has original factory updated rear hard wing that replaced the older model rear soft spoiler & carried forward on to the 968.

Normal preventitive maintenance work regularly done and fixed the following common 944 problems: replaced cam chain tensioner, belts , control arm ball joints & bushings, CV joint, ignition coil & wires, MAF sensor, sunroof hinges, new glove box lid & arms, clock lightbulb, floppy side mirror springs, starter motor, shifter linkage, shocks. Oil changes with synthetic motor oil.

Improved with oem euro driving lights, modified fog lights to operate any time independantly, deleted stock exhaust resonator, Kenwood Xcellon with MASK head unit, JBL speakers, Simpson camlock 5 point bolt-on harness restraint, front bumper/hood bra & side flag mirror bras.

Porsche Club of America member. 1st place in concours show. My car had a top 3 finish in the USA National autocross championship by the previous owner.

Have records of all previous owners since this 944 S2 arrived from Germany. I'm the 3rd owner since I purchased in 1996. Through my research I have documented this car was delivered in Aug. 1990 to the Porsche Cars N. American importer's inventory. A Porsche dealer in VA bought the car in Aug. 1992 for a customer, who purchased it in Sep. 1992. The S2 & all Porsche cars at the time were very expensive compared to their competitors & took longer to sell. I tracked the 1st owner down in my early years of ownership & spoke at length with him over the phone. He was an engineer with a long Porsche owners history & travelled a lot on the highway to work sites. He never had any problems or accidents with it. He traded it in to the dealer in 1995, where the 2nd owner found it. This fellow, I bought from in TN, acquired it in 1995 specifically to showcase it's remarkable low speed autocross driving skills. A very meticulous owner & accomplished driver he was, Mr. R.L. Mitchell. He placed 3rd overall in the 1995 SCCA stock class USA Nationals Championship Autocross. A once a year event drawing 1,000 competitors from all states. This has been my alternate 2nd car since 2004. Family time now restricts my ability to enjoy the 944 S2, so now is the opportunity for someone else to benefit after 14 years of happiness.

Affordable & easy maintenance/insurance, plentiful parts market. 2+2 seating. Collectors classic sportscar. Same meticulous adult owner the past 14+ years. Sad to see her leave, but have bigger family car commitments. Want to buy older Bentley Turbo R.

A little history about myself. I'm a car nut. It's a private sale, I'm not in the business of buying & selling cars. I volunteer instruct advanced driver training & am the past president for our local car club. I am an affiliated member of many marque car & driving clubs over the years. We are located in the Pacific Northwest. Telephone Wes at 604.677.1944.

Default U want these wheels!

This 944 S2 can be sold with these rare BBS 2 piece Classix 5 spoke Fuchs style wheels. Rears 18x10 & fronts 18x8.5 with street tires. Black finish hides brake dust well & matches Brembo calipers.

Price without factory wheels is an additional $1350 to listed price for the S2.

I will not sell seperately without the car!

That's autox weight. Remove stock resonators with stainless steel straight pipe. Replace stock muffler with B&B carbon fiber. 3 piece race wheels weighing 13 pounds each. Lighter DOT R compound tires. Remove sunroof. Lighter battery. Remove spare tire, jack & toolkit. Run gas tank level at reserve.

Quick and important question. Was the rear of this car ever painted? The "2" in the S2 emblem on the rear is level with S, instead of lower. Not sure of the factory did this, or a mistake by a body shop...

Amazing car though. Very nice color combo! You seem to have very good data regarding '91 S2's...do you know the color break down for this year? I've always wondered how many guards red '91's there were. I've always loved and thrived off knowing I own such a rare care and would like to break that 510 number down even further by color. Thanks!

It's the same on my 1991...but I am fairly certain mine has been repainted.
