Default 87 951 w/ 996 TT wheels - Front Spacers only?

Hey Guys,

I just picked up a set of 996 TT wheels in black for my white 87 951 : ) Going off this website: http://www.wheeldynamics.net/appguide.html, I am thinking I will only need front 7mm spacers?

The set comes with 225/40/18 tires upfront and I am planning on putting 295/30/18 tires on the back. I've got the 7mm spacers for the front. Will I need anything else? Just want to double check. I believe the offset for the stock 996 TT wheels were 50mm in front ant 45mm in back. Is there a better fitting tire for the back on 11's?

Thanks for the input!

should be able to run the fronts w/ no spacers- 55mm offset- rears will be tight at 45mm w/o some camber.

Thanks for the info! So I should return the 7mm fronts because I won't need them with these wheels?

What do I need to do to get the rear wheel to fit? I swear I've seen 951's with these wheels on. Anyone running 18x11 ET 45mm rears? I've been searching the forums but somehow haven't come up with a clear answer as to how they fit (w/295/30/18 tires).

Just saw this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...ent-18x11.html

So, the conclusion is that a 18x11 ET45 will not fit on an 87 951 unless 86 parts are used?

The rears work on early offset. It's gonna take allot of work for them on a late offset car.
I think all of the late offset cars running 11" rears had an offset in the 60's.

Check this thread, Hmmm, build progress... , starting at post #32, also keep the 7mm spacers, they allow the wheel to clear the bearing cap on the hub and provide space for the center cap to seat.

i had a set on my 87 NA, and i needed 7mm spacers up front in order for the center caps to stay on. without them, the wheels bearing caps stuck out too far and the caps wouldn't clip in.

I've seen the rears on an '87, but he had a lot of negative camber dialed in, it was a track car so it worked well, can't say it would be OK on the street.
