Actually, when I read the title I thought bad thoughts for Porsche. It's the kind of crap they would pull!

LT... it is not necessary to have the crank at TDC to install the starter.

However, the starter will last longer and work better if installed during the three days before or after a full moon. At least that what I think the German translation is from the Porsche edition of the the Old Farmer's Almanac...

BTW, that's "'tard", not "retard"... stop wasting bandwidth and electricity unnecessarily...

My own question is, "One of my brake lights is out. Is this why my brakes pull to one side?"

Jim, a bit 'tarded hisownself sometimes...

No, but make sure you use the factory starter tensioner tool. And don't forget to check the tension after 1500 starts.

Glad I could help.

Yes, if the starter belt slips your transmission synchros are gone, as well as the unobtanium sunroof extender tabs. You would also need to replace your steering pan gaskets and retorque your electrical relays or the ground strap resistance will be all wrong and the turbo will spool in reverse.

Hey LT,

Don't for get to put the locking pin on the steering wheel for the first mile or the headlamps will fall out causing a chain reaction resulting in the drive train reversing 5th and 1st gears just before you get on the high way!!!

Be vewry verwy quiettt I'm huntin wrabbitts.
