there is an SC kit that is done for the 968 by one of the Rennlist sponsors. Currently it is getting adapted for the S2.

Yep, Bleucamaro supercharged his (now my) S2. He removed the supercharger and sold it to someone (Lumberg's Lackey, I think) several years ago. I thought I had the thread bookmarked, and I don't think I do.

THe speedforce kit looks really good. But i still think I can build one myself maybe using a charger from a jag xkr or xjr as these are fairly easy to get hold of in the U.K. I have good access to a machine shop and also a good local fabricator. However keep sending me more links as the more you see how other people have done things the more you start to understand and form you own way of doing something.

Agreed. The supercharger on my 8v 944 is a twin screw Eaton M90, using a homemade bracket and inlet/outlet ports, as well as a stock 951 intercooler, homemade pipes, an MSD-BTM (boost timing master) box, S2 injectors and a rising-rate adjustable FPR. The person who fabricated all the brackes and pipes and everything just eyeballed it and tested out a few prototypes before making the final pieces. He used this setup on his car for 3 years before selling all the parts to me, and I have been working on installing everything for a while, just short of starting it up now though. Once I am done I will make a thread with pictures and lots of info, so keep an eye out.

Approximate prices for my build:
Eaton M90 from a junkyard: $200
EIP Tuning rising-rate FPR from ebay: $100
homemade brackets, pipes, pieces, etc. well tested: $300
AEM wideband o2 sensor / gauge from ebay: $180
Boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge, lots of misc. and minor other parts: probably like $200

so as you can see, it cost me somewhere around $1k for everything. Much cheaper than dropping $6k on a kit that will not get me as much power.

Sorry forgot to mention... the Eaton M90 that I used was from a 1991 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe. I am sure you can use blowers from other vehicles as well, but it would be wise to research online which model blowers produce the best power, flow, velocity, reliability, and you should make sure they spin in the correct direction!

M90 is a roots-type, not a twin screw...just clarifying

If your looking at doing a custom kit I would consider a Harrop blower. They are really efficient and fit a similar configuration as the Eatons.
