ok cool that makes the battery mounting a bit easier
now this is what im thinking im going to do with the VAC system. I dont have any of the evap junk anymore so im going to get rid of a lot of it. here is what im thinking.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
I want to leave the idle control valve for now, just until i get the car running normally. if i delete it now then the car doesnt run right it will be hard to tell if its related to that valve or not so im just going to leave it for now.
but other than that i should be ok with this setup. On a turbocharged car, directing the brake booster right to the manifold would be a bad idea because whenever the manifold is under pressure from the turbo i would have almost no assistance braking... but on the N/A the manifold is pretty much always under vacuum so this should be fine.

The brake booster is hooked directly to the intake manifold on a 944 turbo.

and also where does the line hooked to the heater core valve thing go? one of the nipples on the firewall near the AC ports?

as far as i know on my car that idle speed valve is only for the air conditioning, letting more air into the manifold to compensate for load put on the engine by the ac compressor. i didnt have it on the car for over 3 years without issue. now though the line has a kink in it and my rpms drop 150 or 200 at idle when the ac comes on.
since you obviously dont have ac anymore (thats my bracket! lol) you dont need it.

assuming WI has no emissions testing, but assuming that it gets pretty damn cold in the winter, i think you could get away like this.
of course if the car isnt winter driven or used on excessively cold days, the cold start valve could be removed entirely and a line run straight to the booster.
