also, on an NA, the exhaust heat is isolated to the pass side of the engine. of course u'll still have to deal with radiator heat and just radiant heat coming from the block.

i can experiment tonite. run the car around and take laser thermo thru the driver side wheel well with hood closed.

im expecting the engine to run slightly hotter anyway just because of all the powdercoating i have on everything

u think the exterior powdercoating on the cam tower and balance shaft and intake mani is going to really affect temperatures in a significant way? i have my doubts...

eh... not really... it is a little bit of an insulator though...

the intake manifold for example is normally a very rough porous texture so that it has more surface area... that way it will disburse more heat. now its completely smooth... im guessing the total surface area has been cut in half.

but yeah i wouldnt expect the temps to rise more than a degree or 2 more than normal... especially on an n/a

"A word of caution. I know a guy who loomed all of his wires on the engine of his Boxster. He must have used some cheap kind of Pep Boys looms because they melted all over his engine. What a friigin' mess it was."

I had been thinking the same thing a couple of days ago... I like the blue reflective tape the best...

used some jumper cables to hook a battery up to the power supply to the fuse/relay panel and my windows were just rolled up and down for the first time in like 2 years! anyone have any good tips on how to mount a battery in the spare tire well?

lol duct tape.

get a battery box and bolt it in. do it right :P. but ...spare tire well? I thought u'd want it on the pass side cubby hole.

i didnt think it would fit over there. but apparently on all the RHD cars thats where it is placed from the factory... Ill probly do it that way.

there might even be a factory battery bracket on the catalog for that
