Not yet, it takes time and $$$, my friend. We are definitely working towards such a possibility. East Coast conversion shops have come and gone, due to mismanagement and (you guessed it) poor customer relations.
Not the main objective here, but worthy of some in-depth consideration.
One step at a time...Maybe by summer '10.

Summer...fall...whenever, this needs to happen, especially on the East coast. Glad to see you are considering it

xschop, can you confirm if the 4.8 vortec will work with all your parts? those are 270-300HP and like 300 ftlbs and are likely cheaper than the 5.3 since it is the "base" v8 in the silverado/sierra/suburban. also the smaller engine displacement might give a little gas mileage over the 5.3 lol

Don't forget the L33 variant of the 5.3, which has an alloy block, better cylinder heads, etc. 310hp and 325tq in stock form, it warms up easily with a Z06 cam and valve springs, LS2/6 intake and bigger throttle body. What's going in mine, with a few other goodies. What's great about this is you can usually find it at the same cost as a "regular" 5.3!

Yes, it was one of the last problems to the swap I wanted to fix. I can't believe after 25 years no-one had tackled the PS problem. The GM/F-Body/Vette PS pumps are not a good match for the 944 PS rack, not to mention everything from the 944 PS rack bolts right up....duh

While you are at it.
What about a bracket for the Porsche AC compressor to stay in its original position? I was just wondering if that was possible or if it would run into the same problems as the power steering rack. I am going to run power steering so could the alternator be mounted up in place of the power steering pump and put the factory AC in place of where the alternator was originally? Was that clear at all?

Why are they not a good match up?

The GM pumps and Porsche racks operate at different pressures. The Porsche rack requires more pressure then the GM pump can supply. The pump overheats, opens the pressure relief valve, and the fluid boils. Turn One makes a replacement pump utilizing a modified pressure valve and relief that helps the problem, but some have still experienced heat and pump-whine issues.
The Turn One pump does seem to work well on street-driven conversions.
