My 951's in the new Panamera TV ad
Well, it's in the long distance shots at least... Still no respect.
Anyway, I donated my car to Porsche for the commercial shoot a couple months ago (Jerry Seinfeld shipped over 8 of his cars including Steve McQueen's 917).
It's for the Family Tree campaign to introduce the Panamera. There's also a documentary on IFC that's been airing this month that was partially filmed at the commercial shoot.
Check it out: http://www.porscheusa.com/family
Click on the red 944 behind the 911 and next to the RS Spyder for a very nice highlight. There are a few other photos scattered around the site (which has some great videos and photos).
Enjoy!

Congrats... we had identified a red "S"/951 from '87/'88 by looking closely at 3 different clips that are available on youtube a few days ago to see if a transaxle 4 had been represented... guess we nailed your car !

That's sofa king cool! Were you there for the shoot? Did you get to see your car rolling with the likes of 917s, 959s, 935s and 962s? Tell us about the shoot. Also, how did they come to you to ask for your car?
Congratulations!
Congratulations!

Kieth,
Is it just me ? -- I think there's no car in Porsche's fleet that looks better than an S, 951 or S2 in Guards Red... The wheels look absolutely perfect on that car too.

Cool. Seems Porsche got rid of all their own cars. How do the 928 guys feel with that little bitty icon all the way in the back, and I guess the 924 and 914 isn't evan considered a Porsche by Porsche.

Thanks! Fairly stock '86 951, about 70k mi. Had an extreme makeover by Meguiar's a couple years ago that completely restored the exterior, so it's in very good condition.
Keith, your car looks great! Love the mods.
The commercial shoot was very impressive, although I was only there the first and third days. Missed the main shooting day in between, unfortunately. It was at the former El Toro MCAS base, and shot on the runways. All the lake bed backgrounds in the ads and site are digitally added. When I got there, they put each car on a turntable for digital photos (see shot at the top). Then lined up with all the rest.
The request came through the local PCA, they were looking for one of each model, as close to stock as possible. Sent over photos to radical media who presumably ran it by Porsche to select the cars for the ad. Too bad my car didn't get more air time. No respect at all...
