Not yet. I think I'll wait until it's done and maybe just chuck up a few pics. There are delays every which way you turn so these things just take time.

Default My car........

To be true I have to say that my car doesn't evolute much as we are making parts for clients and very little for our own project.
I still haven't made up my mind which engine to use as I'm building one 3l 16v turbo and one Cayenne turbo unit, but the balance is tipped more in favor of the V8 unit.
The problem with the V8 is that I don't think that the gearbox are available
to handle the torq.
If this happen then I have to go for an udder type of gear box like a inverted 911 gt3 unit, Hewland or Quaife. But then I the budget runs away again........
How much torq and hp can the 951 box handle on a race track without break????

Why not a 3L 951 engine?

Default Why V8!!!!!

1. Torq.....................................
2. A long stroke 3.0l turbo 944 engine with 500hp wont last to long with out a lot of maintenance.
3. A Cayenne stock engine has that kind of power.
4. It`s a Porsche engine
5. I have one..

Why not a v8!
1. Weight
2. it`s not a 944
3. I have to spend 10.000€ on a sequential gear box

That would be a cool project Jan, but you would still have to deal with driveline components even at 500hp/tq. Much above that and you will need custom lots of stuff. All do-able of course.

The other big issue you'd have to deal with is traction...or lack of it. Very hard to put that sort of power down in a super light 951. Traction control would be advisable.

Then you'll have to change the thread title because it won't be a 951 anymore!
