Post My new toys!

Hi all,

Just got my new tires in yesterday..so now I have my new 996 wheels on the car..also got my momo combat **** installed and the door sills I got a few weeks ago but never got around to taking pictures of to show you all. Let me know what you think! (Sorry if the pictures are a bit large, may take a while for you dial-up folks)

Good stuff quite the good looking S2 you have there....

Out of curiosity what route did you take to get the Momo **** to fit?

I got the sills from <a href="http://www.prestigeparts.co.uk/porscheindex.htm" target="_blank">PrestigeParts</a>..
They came to about $70 after shipping...I was just gonna replace the scratched surfaces with the generic black ones till I saw those and that I could get the S2 on them

(added)
for the **** I used that Performance Products adapter..which my dad coulda made for about 13 cents but cost me $20...
It's just a little piece that turns the flat shaft into a round top so the **** will slide onto it..pretty simple..it rattles a little bit sometimes so I'm gonna try and insulate it a little bit..I'll let you know what ends up working for that

Thumbs up

That is one SWEET looking 944! Gotta love a car that STILL looks expensive and fast after all these years!

I would love a shifter like that...but don't want a rattle. Did it come with the boot too?

No I just took the stock boot and folded it down and put a zip tie on it to hold it to the very bottom of the ****.Works great..the rattle isn't real bad it just does it for a couple seconds sometimes..and it also has a slight hiss when it's in 2nd for some reason. It's not the **** that rattles it's the shaft itself I guess because the stock **** was a lot heavier and wider so I guess there's just some more open space in there now than before.

But I'm sure my dad can fix this problem. (He did, afterall, weld new gear teeth onto my power window mechanism when it was messed up! That still amazes me how he got that to work! window hasn't failed since)

You have the best color combo with a black exterior. I think that is simply beautiful. Clean, subtle, tasteful, Bravo!

It warms my heart to know that there are some 944s in that kind of shape, so I can get me one in five years when I have the money...

I've also got those sills from prestige parts. They are great. In order to keep you combat **** from rattling buy the **** adapter kit from performance parts ( I know they suck) but the adapter really works. I will post pics soon of my ride with my new toys as well.

I have the adapter from performance parts..I assume you're talkin about the little $15 thing that slides onto the shifter? It's on there..there's just a buncha movement in the shaft itself that wasn't there before..I also get some more noise from there..I dunno I was kinda in a hurry last night when I put it on so I may pull it back off tonight and inspect it a little further when I'm not in a rush. Thanks for the compliments tho guys..I think the wheels made such a huge difference in how the car looks...now it looks as modern as any car out there IMO

After driving it around town once this morning it already gets a lot more looks!

Anyone notice the other 944 on the left side of this picture?

Looks like a turbo or an S2. Is that the daily driver?

After looking more at the picture, I can see that you cropped it that way intentionally!
