anyone have an idea what a "repport volumetric" is? I can't make that translation....

oh...compression ratio?

Flo, not sure about 944 engines specifically but at least in principle even a 10.6:1 compression ratio engine can support low boost. you may have to start using a higher octane gasoline and have timing retarded.

i run my acura rsx with a SC too and that's 11:1 compression ratio and I run 9psi non intercooled.

sorry

piston hight compression, or low compression...

... is the ralationship of volume!

I don't you if my translation is right

you could run low boost, maybe 6 or 8 psi but youd definitely want an intercooler for anything higher than that. you will need the highest octane available.

the acura can run higher because it has knock sensors to retard timing etc. you will probably need to go into your computer and change the fuel switch to richen the mixture and retard the timing.

yea i have a knock sensor, but I also have the standalone programmable ECU that doesn't auto retard like the oem ecu does. I just have the ignition retarded to a setting where it doesn't knock. i don't loose power from the retard though.

no you shouldnt, by retarding the timing you are optimizing the time for the fuel/air mixture to combine and get to a good point of compression for the spark. the piston has already started its power stroke and that is when the spark will fire rather than close to TDC

the more you retard the timing the closer it happens to TDC not the other way around.

10.6 can really only sustain ~ 7 psi w/o race fuel. I definately wouldn't do it w/o intercooler

You should look into E85
