the engine in the 88 has more power due to a higher compression ratio.

if you really get serious you could pull the rubbery undercoating off the car which altogether is about 120lbs. and if you have access to the stuff you could find some generic truck bedliner or something and respray it on the bottom of the car for the same protection for alot less weight.
hmmmm )...never heard of this ideea sounds good 150 lbs that wil be in kg ...let me see...68 kg.. and the entire car is 1180 kg in the papers i have ...
how much is the interior? i don`t have spare tire, carpets , right seat,no door cardboards now, no back seats, no roof or sunroof (it`s a non sunroof car)?

someone a long time ago made a calculator for the heavier parts of the 944 that can be removed. if i can figure how to post it i will.

according to the calculator...
carpet padding is 10lbs
front carpets are 30lbs
hatch carpet is 20 lbs
center console is 5
one seat is about 40 lbs
door panels are about 4 lbs
spare is about 28 lbs
rear seats about 30 together

that right there is about 170 lbs/77 kg

^^^ thats a start. go for the carbon fiber u are already commited to ripped interior and such. i daily drive my 944, so its earning its mileage. i wouldnt worry about being FAST. there will always be other cars that are WAAAY faster. want a fast car out of the box for an average price?? go japanese and get an evo, or an STi or a honda 2000. their aftermarket is wider than 944's, and might cost less. all my friends have tuner cars and i have my 944, and im fine with it because its a car that i love. but i am tempted to try booost..... 951 here i come !!

if you don't want to swap the motor, you could always add the turbo manifolding, turbo, turbo exhaust, and associated plumbing. You might have to do some custom fabrication for the intercooler (or remove it and just get some bent tubing to connect the turbo to the manifold)....you would likely have to set your wastegate to open at fairly low boost (ie limit engine to 5-6 psi) BUT...based on what SFR makes from a SC 2.5l n/a running on 5-6 psi of boost, 170 rwhp would not be unattainable. And, because you would have the 10.5:1 compression from the stock euro motor, you would see less boost lag

In theory, a stock 951 fuel map should get you close to proper tuning, but this sort of thing would really beg for a standalone ECU.

imo the CF body panels available for 944s arent worth the extra cost over fiberglass...besides its not like the front fenders weigh much anyways. the CF/FG weight difference is like 2 lbs per panel but costs 100+ more.

im thinking of a FG hood if anything just to offset the front end weight of my SC and parts
