944Fest 03 Invites are out!
OK folks, the 944fest 03 invites are out. If you didn't get one, they went something like this:
Greetings! This email is confirming your invitation to the third annual 944Fest, to be held Sunday, July 6th in Mansfield, Ohio.
Information regarding specifics can be found at
http://home.earthlink.net/~944fest/944Fest03.html . Guests are welcome
and if you'd like to contribute please bring your favorite side dish or
dessert. Don't forget your camera and maybe a change of clothes if you
plan on taking the "shortcut" in the mower-cross. I'll be providing a
cookout, beer and soft drinks. I'm hoping for at least 25 cars, but I
won't know for sure how many until you RSVP. Please reply if you plan
to attend, let me know how many cars, how many people, and where you are
driving in from. I'll try to hook up folks for caravans if anyone else
from your area is interested. We'll be starting at 11 AM Sunday. (I know,
the website says 12)This year the menu will be steaks or seafood (clambake). In your RSVP, please
let me know which you would prefer. The event is free for waterboys,
however donations are always accepted. Rennlist is on board this year as
a sponsor, expect a few prizes for low auto-x times and long commutes.
We'll take the pack out for a drive Sunday and enjoy the good company.
This year I'm opening up the facilities Sat, feel free to arrive
anytime after 4pm on the 5th and we'll have a keg, burgers, bonfire and
set up for the Sunday show. I certainly could use some help setting up
the lawnmower autocross course! There is plenty of room for pitching a
tent, or even unrolling a sleeping bag indoors. My home is almost empty
due to my recent move, so guests can expect full house privileges
including showers, etc. except furniture. If you'd rather, there is an
Econo Lodge 2 miles away (419-589-3333) that probably rates 2 stars, or
the Comfort Inn (419-886-4000) about 12 miles south that should suit the
finer tastes.
Instead of a set photo shoot, this year I plan on collecting as
much video footage of the pack as possible, for use in a 944 video to be
released in the fall. This is the last year the 944fest will be at
this ideal venue. Next year I'll be hosting the show up to the west side
of Cleveland where I'll be moving.
Again, if you are coming, please RSVP with the following info:
How many attending
When arriving-camping?
Steak/Seafood preference
(These aren't reservations, I just need to know how many to plan for.)
Looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing the old ones again!
See You There!

PS.. feel free to forward this invite to other "waterboys" and tell your
friends! The more the merrier!

ownership or affiliation. If it was sent to you in error, my apologies.

This has the potential to be a spectacular event! Any questions, please e-mail me. Anyone with a Hi-8 digital video cam that we could use to gather more footage? The more cameras I have rolling, the better clips I can get. Don't forget Perry's car on display..

I will also donate 1 set of LED Reflectors.
And since this is a combo topic.. how many of you who pre-ordered LED Reflectors will be attending. PM or post here so I can bring your sets.

I'm in, but I think you already knew that! I will be in my 968, unless a miracle happens and elves magically rebuild my 951 overnight.

Count me in Dan, possibly one guest but most likely just me, replacing that original cluch in the n/a before it gets me so I'll be bringing the 951 even though the airbrushed tiger lady won't be on the side yet, Saturday evening/night, tent camping, donating at least 8 cases of Miller brand beers and bringing an acoustic guitar for anyone who wants to howl at the moon with me by the bonfire. Just hope I don't scare off any potential friends I'm likely to meet. See y'all there.

Dan, you should have recieved an e-mail from me, but I'm not 100% sure it worked. Anyway - I'll be up Sunday, late morning (or noon). It'll be me and maybe one guest.
Thanks a bunch!

I did not get a email but will be there. Just finished painting tail lights, side markers and turn singles red. Anyone interested in doing it can get a look. Also hope to have my 968 door handles/mirrors installed.

If I weren't coming in the 968 cab, I would bring a guitar too, but I honestly don't think it will fit! lol
