Dan,

I can get you two "sponsors" for the 944Fest, if you are interested. I spoke with Stephen Kaspar at Imagine Auto, and Ian Riley at Ian's Europarts/944Online.com, and both would be willing to put up some door prizes. I don't expect anything extravagant to come from them, but hey, its worth pursuing.

Let me know if you want me to follow up on this. Maybe next year, with a bit more coordination, we can get sponsors that will pay for the food!

You can also call me at 785-865-3435 if you have any questions.

Regards,

Dan, are you getting enough info to set up or to assist in setting up caravans to the fest?

If your working on it, I won't start a thread to drum up support for a caravan for the possible MI/IL/IN people that will be heading over.

As if you don't have enough to do already!

Let me know!

Scott and Cory, great ideas.. Scott, if you can talk them into donating something I'll put a quick plug for them in the video. As for the caravans, I invite you to co-ordinate with others inbound from your area. I'm not going to initiate a caravan post, I'll be too busy setting up to make sure the connections get made. I ordered 25 doz clams and will have about that many steaks. Beverages will be a mix.. I was gonna keg but then a few offers of bring-in cases popped up,..so we'll have to play that one by ear. Mayaman, feel free to host something in your region... I can't help much there. I really hope we get a good turnout, 20 cars would be awesome.. If you can tell, I'm trying to delegate a bit..this shindig gets to be a handful real fast!

See ya'll soon!

If everyone would post their desired route (major highways), I'll put a page together with different caravans for both days, in all 4 directions. We'll have pick up points along the way.

If everyone tries to get there about 4pm Saturday, or Noon Sunday, things should work out well.

ok so whats up with this shindig? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

ive seen the bait that Chis (924s) has waved infront of my face for a while now, and in all honestly i would love to come and see the event.
im a 4 banger too after all <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> (ok.. but i have 2 stikes against me.. air cooled, and rear engine )

honestly most of my friends on rennlist own 944s, 924's, or 951's, so i would love to meet you guys and hang out. also i have a special place in my heart for the 44', as my dad owned one of the 1st oes in columbus, when i was 3. it was my introduction to the great porsche marquee, and i was in love with that car! besides, who cares about water or air cooled.. all porsches are great cars, and id love to see all of the 44's at the show!!

i understand completely about the concern of other porsches taking away from the specialness of an event like this. we are currntly dealing with these concerns with the 912 rendezvous (huge 912 event in solvang california, expecting between 50-100 912s this year), so i do not want to spoil or detract from the event you guys have.

is there a fee for non 924/944/968 etc porsches? if so let me know, its not posted on the website. anything else i need to know? if so, please respond.

hell im only an hour away, so i might as well take a look anywasy. btw Chris.. let me know when you will be coming through Cow town, we can hook up and head up, as well as anyone else in central ohio.

so how about it guys, you mind if a fellow 4 banger, all beit a 912, stops by as a spectator? if its front engine water cooled 4 banger you want i can leave the porsche at home and drive the beater beemer (aka bummer.. 82 320i) <img border="0" alt="[icon107]" title="" src="graemlins/icon107.gif" /> J/K!!!

keep me posted! <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
and KEEP THE FAITH! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Geez, I would certainly hope you'd be invited! While it may be the "944Fest", I don't think there would be any harm in having your 912 there. Since its not my event, I will let Dan answer, but I hope to see you there.

Sure, the 912 is welcome to attend.. I certainly won't turn anyone away. Feel free to chip in. You already know your engine configuration isn't our focus, but your camaraderie is (yea, I spell checked it) I may pull you away from the pack a bit for parking and filming, but for the fest you can dive right in.. OK?

Dan, will you "publicly display" your Cooper S during the Fest? <img border="0" alt="[icon107]" title="" src="graemlins/icon107.gif" />

Sure, the Cooper S wil be there, as a support vehicle and camera platform. Sober folks may well enjoy a test drive if they desire. Last P-car get together down in SW Ohio the weather was poor so I took the cooper and chased the purebreds thru the hillsides. While I was the odd car at the back, she held her own quite well. The old mopar will probably contribute too, with a smoky burnout no Porsche could match..
