You can pull the bumper out (it takes a little bit of force). Some have had luck with the bumper staying put, others have trouble with it moving in very easily. If you do have the replace them, i have a spare set i dont need anymore you can have for cheap.

Very Easy to replace. To remove the bumper it is 2 large bolts on the underside of the bumper that you can acess. 17mm? After that it slides off with ease, unplug the turn signals. The shocks are held in with two bolts on each, 12mm? and they just slide out.

Anyone with a parts car or random parts will have them, if other people on the lis have them and they are not compressed, there is no reason to buy brand new ones or way too much moolah.

If you have access to a parts car - the rear bumper shocks are the same as the front.

I have a set of good bumper shocks if you end up needing to replace them.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I am now in a similar position.

My 84 has a pushed in bumper on one side. Now removal/replacement of the bumper shocks I'm not worried about, but the headlights are now kinda tweaked. The headlight covers aren't flush with the hood and header panels anymore. Any advice on how to get everything lined up again? I'm hoping it doesn't mean everything is permanently out of alignment up there...

edit: found this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-disguise.html

Looks like I'm in for some pain.
