I still say you are doing the best conversion job I have ever seen.
However, if anyone still reading this still thinks the conversion is easier or cheaper than buying a late 944, I am speechless.

But I have to say. Considering it cost me $100 dollars (which selling parts off the car I've made much more), it wasn't at all expensive. Idk if it ever got to the hard part. Because it was more of just fun.

one summer day in 1988, i get into my car at the "Lil Peach" convenient store in Millis Massachusetts, and this girl pulls into the little parking lot right next to me in this red "thing..." in shock, i blurt out, "that's an F-40 !" to which my grinning companion sitting in the cockpit of the bright red F-40 kindly responded, "yes, it is."
i had just recently learned about the car... that the first few examples (i believe the number was 12) had reached the united states... this was obviously one of the "Rosenfeld" daughters. the Rosenfelds would become one of the largest cement suppliers of the Big Dig. they had half a dozen or so Ferrari's back in 1988. at that time, you had to be selected or have a previous relationship with Ferrari to qualify to purchase one of the F-40s, with the promise that only a few examples would be made.
of course, that number eventually ballooned to like 1,200 cars.

In my conversion I ended up just using my two original gauges. It's possible to wire up the late gauges with the early ones, it's just very, very time consuming.

Thanks guys again for all of the positive feedback. The car is still a work in progress... currently I'm doing the necesssry maintenance work. Once thatbis finished, the interior will go in to stay. As far as the gauges go, I found a company that makes beautiful custom gauges that matches the Porsche stylen I would post the link, but I am typing this from my nexus one ane on foot in NYC. I will post a better update when I'm not moving around so much.
Cheers, you guys.

I snapped the avatar pic as the brumos crew warmed the 917 at a test/tune at Roebling. Hurly had the track to himself and drove the 917 in anger.
Where were you racing in the early 90s?

Don't know, if you are aware of this... The factory made a few 924S models with the late 944 dash and interior, but decided not to put it in production. The prototypes were then used as lease cars for employees for a while, before they were scrapped.
I have no detailed information on how many there were, what colors, or such things. I just have a pretty solid source who told me they existed.
