Default N/A splitter and 968 style spoiler

Ok, so this might be pure BS on my part, but I was wondering if any N/A owners would like a splitter made for them....uhhh us...

My car is nearing the point that I'm comfortable with it mechanically, and I want to start spending money to make it look cool(er). Looking around, I notice all the cool **** is mostly for the 951 or S owners. There are no splitters for our cars, or none that I can find anyway. (I know they're not AS needed on our cars, but damn they look cool)

I'm pretty good at building/designing stuff, and I've been interested in learning to make stuff with fiberglass, so I thought I would give this a shot. I want to make a 968 style of wing that would fit our cars without the $1200 trim pieces (IE: direct bolt on) and a splitter.

So, I'm asking for both ideas, links, thoughts, AND if anyone would be interested in buying my creations? I want to know if N/A guys want this stuff, or if I'm completely off my rocker lol.

The 968 wing wouldn't be adjustable (not yet anyway) but I'm thinking the "hoop" type of wing. And I'm thinking a NASCAB style of spiltter. Basically a simple flat piece of fiberglass with some struts up to the bumper (since it sticks out so far anyway).

Either tell me what you think, or call the mental hospital I DO NOT want it to look RICE...just RACE. lol

My first thought is...

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But you never know. If you think you can make something that looks like it belongs on our cars then it could be just fine. And it would have to be quality work.

I could bet my left nut that a spoiler that attaches to the bumper would make me a little sick to my stomach.

Personally, I'm pretty open minded. But... uh... do it to your car 1st then post pics

GL!

If that's what you meant, then I agree.

I would love to see a custom molded wing that would fit in place of the rubber spoiler, and blend in with the rubber trim pieces. As for splitters... I don't think anyone will bite. NAs don't need them... and if one thinks otherwise one usually makes one out of a sheet of vinyl and rivets. If you want a project for NA body modding, then make a front bumper cap out of fiberglass. Like something that just sticks onto the bumper that makes it look notgay, e.g. more like a euro bumper.

Hum there already is a 968 spoiler that you can get from the UK, fiberglass, costs about $300 shipped to your door. with trim pieces.

I have one and installed it. YMMV.

There are a couple repro 968 style rear spoilers out there, most are in the UK. They look good and include fiberglass repros of the trim pieces. Search the interweb. No sense in re-inventing the wheel.

N/A front + splitter = ugly. Just my opinion.

+ eleventy billion.....

thats why I think there are no N/A splitters, most guys probably convert to turbo front ends before even thinking about a splitter.

Jtsporsche, that pic is almost exactly what I meant for the splitter....... and I'm thinking people don't like it .... at all?? lol

If there's a wing in the UK, can I get a link?? I have searched here, and google for days.

Thanks everyone for the posts...thats what I wanted. Now I know I'm only half crazy lol. I do plan to photoshop what I'm planning to give everyone more detail, but for the most part, you all know what the968 wing looks like, and now you know what I mean with the splitter, thanks to Jtsporsche.

Thanks all...and keep it coming.
