Julie, I have a ton of parts left from a 83 that I parted out. Let me know what you need. Selling most of it cheap to get it out of the garage. Wife raising 3 kinds of hell!!
After my divorce and having to start over from scratch, I use to dream of having a 944 while I was chaining my 89 ranger to the post on the deck to the apartment I was living in to keep it from getting repoed. Now I have a beautiful 84 plus a 87 S that I'm putting back together to save it from being parted out. I have parted out a 83 and a 86 951, but I much rather put em back together than put em in the grave.
I can't give full credit to the 944 for keeping me pushing in the ole days, but it sure gave me something to work for.
Todd

That's a great story. And I give you nothing but tons of credit. I've travelled some bumpy roads, but still couldn't match that.

Wish you nothin but the best, for yourself and Kijo.

Cheers,
Ryan

I got the speaker cover off- I was afraid to brake something. Voila- It's completely empty. An ice cold beer in a huggy fits fine in there while doing interior work. I still havent figured what to put in there..

Thanks Julie- Good luck on the smog..
Now I'm on the hunt for late 944 parts..

Chris, Legoland has parts! Email him!

Anyway, car got a wave from a vintage 911 today, and saw a 356 at the dealership I stopped by on the way to work.

And they didn't give me any crap about Kijo, lol!

I almost feel sorry for them...I said almost, heheheeh.

Luis, thanks for your inspiration. I couldn't have done any of this without Legoland's help, and all of your support here online.

Sid, helped alot to turn on that damn power button... Thanks so much, now my car speaks just like you, hehehehe.

I'll have to carry it in at night, until I get the prized garage spot back - damned '50 Pontiac Firechief! Only a month, he said...then it and the dog will be gone. That was on March 7, for crying out loud! That's also why I'm not in so much of a hurry to put in another stereo system...if it isn't out of there in two weeks, she's going to have to be (shudder the thought), parked out on the friggin' street!

I think roomie needs to deduct parking car in my spot off of the friggin' rent! I am definitely unhappy.

Can't wait to make money off the comic book series, and move the hell out of here!

been a while since ive checked back in on you and Kijo.. looks like ya been busy! i still think yer nuts for wearing rubber gloves while workin on the car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

speaking of radio's, i did my own sterio work last weekend.. took a 60's NOS blaupunkt radio from my dads vw parts stash, threw it in, hooked up a cd changer through the trunk.. looks original but very sly!

i remember my dad's 83 944 came with an alpine (if i remember correctly) w/ a tape player. ok that might be too out dated... you'll find somthin decent. try some of your friends who have sterio hook ups. (legal sterio hook ups that is.. if youre getting pulled over cause of how she looks, a hot system is the last thing you need)

oh and you better pass that smog test so you can give me a ride in her when i head out to the coast!

keep up the good work!

chris,

speaking of empty compartments.. have you ever heared of the 'smugglers box'? they are a small compartment in 911's, in the floor of the trunk, very easy to overlook, as it has a door covering it flush with the floor of the trunk. i forget what its original intent was, but as you can see from its name, it was eventually used for somthing else. your speaker compartment kinda reminds me of that.
