Default WTB car in MARYLAND this SATURDAY! 2500-3000

Hey guys, i've been chasing down a few cars on craigslist and nobody is giving me any rope, so i'm hoping someone in my area has see a car or has a car that they want to get rid of that has under 150,000 miles, no rust, a relatively recent timing belt job done, that is currently titled and registered and i can DRIVE IT HOME!! Only want a manual transmission, color really doesn't matter, i'd like the interior to be black, but once again, if the car is mechanically SOUND everything else falls in behind that! Like i've said, i've been in contact with several sellers on craigslist and such and nobody's responding etc...so please don't point out the ads i've already seen ALL of them...

Thanks!
Ethan

Default Summing Up

So, basically what you are saying is you want a relatively low mileage 944, in good working condition, in good shape inside and out with no major issues, you need it this weekend, and it has to be $3000 or less, right?

ok, well let me tell you that someone sold one out from underneath me that was on the road in good shape, car went for 1100 bucks, it was an 84 i think. I'm looking at one in Edgewood but the guy won't email me back, just had a timing belt done, has 130,000 miles, faded paint etc that the guy wants 2200 OBO for, and there's one in vienna that has new paint and interior and timing belt and the guy wants/wanted 2700 OBO for it, so what i'm asking is not that far of a stretch...and did i ever say that it had to be in great shape inside and out? No i didn't, i said i don't want rust, paint can be faded/whatever, as long as there's no major bodywork needed it's fine, interior can be torn up, as long as there's no water damage.

btw i really appreciate your help in finding me a car, but from now on, let's not make fun of people because you "think" you know more about what someone else will sell a car for than anybody else...or do you just want to put me down because i'm younger than you? Is that it? I have done nothing but pour my energy into learning about and working on 944s for the past 2 years, and when a bright young individual puts his mind to something, he can learn a lot pretty fast, especially having ebay, rennlist, pelican, porsche hybrids, and nasa forums as his homepages.

Thanks again so much for your help! You did me a great service!

I wouldn't let the mileage be a factor for this car.

i wouldn't either...i'm not trying to be a **** here, i'm just looking for a car that has average miles, nothing over 200K, i'd really like it to be like that, we'll see where that one goes...thanks for pointing that out, i must have missed it!

3k is accually a very resonable price for a decently kept 944na. It took me 7months to sell my 1984 for 3500. It had new timing belts, rod bearings, rebuilt steering rack, etc..... It was in good condition throughout.
