Finally got my sunroof delete car?
Well I picked up a pretty dirty '84 black 944 with sunroof delete yesterday! Its been sitting since '06 and its pretty clean with only 86,000 original miles! I dont know why it was parked but it hasnt run in a few years so I have to go through and change the headgasket, water pump, belts and rollers! Misc tune up items, it doesnt have 220 LSD but it does have 456 sport shocks and stabilizers and early sport seats. The black headliner is perfect, and I have been lusting after a sunroof delet 944 in white or black. I will post picks in a couple months as I plan on installing a freshly recovered leather dash, '87 951 complete suspension with some 17" or 18" rims, a 8Q early LSD transaxle, fresh shocks, white 931 hood with fresh white paint in front and white blocks checked into doors and roof fo a nice faded copy of the mobil 1 968 turbo RS! I dont know what rims but I am thinking white in front and black in rear! Nice hard front pads to minimize brake dust? Anyway Im very pleased right now, anyone else have sunroof delete cars lets post some pics of the clean roofs!

There's going to be wayyy too much going on there. Keep it simple! (and all one body colour, it's going to be a street car, right?)
If not, disregard....make it as hideous and outrageous as possible for the track! Those are the ones that are the most fun to take pictures of.
Congrats on the acquisition, by the way. I have a soft spot in my heart for sunroof delete cars!

Congrats! Post up some pictures. I would love to find a clean early car with sunroof delete to add to my collection.
Here is my 86' 951 with sunroof delete..... The rear "PORSCHE" decal has been recently removed.

Shawn, nice find! I wish I could have a sunroof delete car. The mobil design will look cool. Did you want to make the checkers black?

Charlie944 the car basically was ordered at Veale Porsche-Audi in San Fransisco in early '83 and he took delivery in November of that year. It has a low vin# so it was one of the first few hundred '84's! It was ordered with sport shocks and stabilizers, sport seats L & R, cruise control and of course no sunroof! Like I said I wish it had 220 LSD but we cant have it all and I have a good low mileage clean 8Q to thow in there this winter. I will take the head off as it has been sitting for a year and a half, then I can do a thorough check of sylinders and if needed a head refresh! But basically other than a lot of work to be done its a great staring point for a classic early 944 with a very rare option here in the states!
Ill post pics soon!

Here is a picture of my cars headliner since everyone always asks what it looks like in the sunroof delete threads. Sorry the camera didn't want to take the picture since it was inside and it was so dark inside the car so I did the best I could for the moment.

Why dont more people just add the sunroof delete themselves? Is it because of the car not being original or what? Considering doing it to my car not sure if its against stock pca rules.
