Default Oil Cooler pics

There was a discussion last week about how to mount an aftermarket cooler and how to run the lines. Here's a few pics of mine. Everything came from BAT in Florida, including the sandwich adapter with thermostat. It's a 16row by 235mm cooler. If I were to do it again I would probably get a slightly shorter, like 12 or 14 row cooler, it would be easier to get into the available space.

Cheers
Randy

Thanks Randy. Did it reduce temps? Pressure?
Oh and where did you get that scoop for under the fog lite opening?

Where do the lines hook up to the engine?

I'd imagine on the sandwich plate.

I've always wanted to add a 2nd OEM cooler on the driver-side. There's even a opening for it, just remove the block-off plate and use the air shroud. Your install looks great.

I don't have an oil temp gauge (next project) but in August in 100+ degree temps I had noticeably lower reading on the water temp gauge - 2 or 3 needle widths. I started the project really because my water temp would run right at the top of the OK range on hot days. I've done everything I can to the radiator and stay in a stock class (which is really just to make sure it's clean and functional) but "oil coolers are free" so I figured it couldn't hurt.
Oil presure was unchanged, it runs between 3 & 4 bar on the track, which is almost never below 5,000 RPM.

What activates the fan? And do you have an oil thermostat or converted to the 951 oil filter housing with the built-in thermostat?

The fan is wired into the radiator fan wiring, when they run it runs. The sandwich plate has a built-in 180degree thermostat.

How much was the kit?
How is it working? Any problems?

Works great - no issues whatsoever. I put loctite on the hollow bolt that goes through the adapter plate so it does not back out when I change the filter.
It wasn't a kit, but here's the list of stuff. It all came from B.A.T. in Florida except for the grille in the foglight area which was stuff bought at a hardware store. Joonas - with the worthless nature of the US $ right now they should be able to fix you up right!

Cheers
Randy

Randy, thank you for reply! Good info.
For me the sandwich plate seemed suspicious.

What about your oil temperature gaugage project? How are the temps and where did you get the oil temperature sensor and gaugage?

I saw 110-120C when I ran it last, however, it was winter here, and not very hot. I'll know better in 3 weeks or so, have 2 events in June
