Default Replaced oil pan gasket now car won't start!!!!! help

I replaced my oil pan gasket, oil pump and had to take off all the belts, support the engine from above, take down the crossmember and steering assembly.

now I put everything back together and go to crank it, crank crank crank and nothing, doesn't even sound like it wants to start at all.

I replaced my belts last year and it started fine. I'm pretty much 100% sure that my belt timing is fine. I used a crank lock and made sure all marks lined up and I turned the engine over by hand a few times and it turned fine and marks still matched up.

now all I can think off is that when I first removed teh crossmember the engine kind off went down low and I thought maybe some wire or something got ripped? not likely but I can't think of anything.

I went looking everywhere for a loose connection or something I missed and can't find anything.

another thing I did was remove teh rear shield from the alternator and I accidently splashed water on the alternator but would that have anything to do with it not starting?

also I have a big water leak from behind my dah I found out it was water leaking from the heater unit on the centre console when I spray water down the winshield so I thought maybe something got wet and damaged?

this is really frustrating, I wasn't expecting a no start after all this hard work.

before I took the oil pan and everything out the car would start and run great.

any idea of what the most likely cause is? I'm not too good at finding a no start problem already giving up hope lol.

other than checking for any loose connections or anything obvious I've just cranked it and yelled at it "son of bitch why won't you start"

the neighbours probably think I'm crazy.

Id check the speed and reference sensors. they are on the bellhousing under the brake master cylinder. Id say check the AFM but when mine was disconnected it would crank and sputter but wouldnt actually start.

how would I check them? just check to see if they are loose?

I checked all around and everything seemed tight and connected.

I thought when jacking up the engine and lowering it and having it supported from above something must have been screwed up.

yea, make sure the connections arent loose or anything like that. Ive heard of sensors randomly failing but, i dunno. Also check and make sure the obvious stuff is good, like the fuel pump, coil wire, etc...

I wouldn't think anything like the fuel pump would just fail after being left for 2 weeks on jack stands.

the car was running great before I removed everything. I looked around and didn't see anything loose.

I can only try simple things like maybe taking the spark plug out and seeing if it sparks.

other than that I don't really have the skill to start testing the electric system with multimeters and oscilloscopes lol, hope it's something not too difficult to find.

You may find you now have time to develop that skill...

if you have a spare GOOD spark plug laying around you can use that, plug it in and lay it against something metal. when you turn the key on, listen for the fuel pump to prime

Multimeters are easy to use and most of the information to test many of the parts is already available on line.

sounds like a ref sensor got tugged on- check the tach to see if its boucing as described. Have someone crank and someone else put their hand on the fuel pump to see if its priming. If neither, sounds like Ref sensors or dme relay is bad/ bad connection.
