If yes, Brad, it is 400/400 from the factory! Same as the pre 05 Z06, 05 + Vette.
The pre-05 Z06's had the ls6 engine, not a ls2. They were ls1/ls6, the new ones are ls2/ls7.

Did you start that project with the full GTO donor car?

Do you have any videos?

A train transporting GTOs from the west coast derailed. About thirty GTOs went overboard. There is a yard in the midwest somewhere that had to cut the cars in half, and then could sell the parts.

There is a lot of discussion about the train wreck on the GTO boards. http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22153

A few guys had VINs for their cars and were waiting for delivery, only to be told their car is toast. There are a lot of pictures of the wreck on the web.

Travis, thats ourstanding. BTW did you go hydraboost or electric for the brakes? My Ls1 is waiting in anticipation of the 968. We really should plan a get together for these hybrids. It would be ablast.

I just pulled the parts that I would need; motor, harness, PCM, and all accesories. About the only thing that doesn't fit in the '44 is the GTO A/C compressor. I used an F-body instead and it's a perfect fit. Also, we didn't use the LS2 PCM (used the much more tuneable LS1 brain) or fly-by-wire throttle as I didn't want to deal with all of the electrical "nannies" (Torque Management etc) that plagues the C6 and Goat. This alone really wakes up the beast that is LS2!

I will get a video up ASAP!

Thanks WOODIE! Keep up the work on your swap. When it's done you'll be well rewarded! The combo of the 944/968 chassis and the LS engine makes the most badass car I've ever driven.

I'm using the electric brakes ( http://www.abspowerbrakes.com/ ) I highly recommend it, as it is superior to the stock vacuum system in both feel and modulation. I can't compare it to hydraboost, however.

Tom- Wow, I hadn't heard about the overboard Goat's! Mine came from a low mile GTO, hit in the side.

Chances are the story behind your motor is posted on that site as well.

There are a lot of suicide stories on that site. The best was when I asked if the traction control was on or off when he slid into a guardrail.

The response was someithing like "i always have my tc off because i am a good driver and am very attentive" yep. guess he wasnt attentive for the two seconds that it would have saved him had he left it on.

I had the LS1 in my GTO and only a few times took the TC off. It was a pain when on, but when off was like riding a bull. that sucka has power even at 3700 lbs. the weight of the 944 and the added power you have makes that car a real beast.

Hahaha, I like the way you put that, Tom.

I'm using a 951 trans/LSD. It works really well and hooks up in 4th and 5th. The other gears, not so well.
