Car started then died. Not DME relay (it is the computer!)
Yesterday I drove my car about 1pm. everything went fine. I parked and left the sunroof cracked. we had a really bad storm and the inside of my car was wet all over. I cleaned the car up then started the car and backed out of my parking spot. when I put the car in 1st it stalled. The car would not start after that. The starter turns over but the engine will not start. I let the car sit overnight thinking the distributor cap got wet from the downpour we had. (sideways rain, really hard) This morning same thing. I removed the DME relay and made a jumper. I could hear the fuel pump running but it still would not start. Fuel pump fuse is still fine. My Tach is not jumping when I attempt to crank the car. is my ref sensor toast? I have never adjusted that before, would it just fail while backing out of a parking spot?

See if it's better when it dries up. I actually had a problem with the speed and reference sensors and when they were bad, the car wouldn't run worth crap when it was moist out.

It was like the bellhousing got moisture in it and just messed with the sensors. Has it been stuttering when humid out at all? Mine was stuttering and then would get closer to the right timing the higher it revved. it seemed worse in humidity (which Memphis has a lot of)

If that is the case when it is dried out today I will try to start it again. Either way it looks like I am getting some new sensors. I would hate to get stuck places when it rains!

just checked the computer. dry as ever. I also checked the j-boot. everything is tight. still no start and no movement on the tach no matter what I do.

doh, I though I posted this: I swapped the ref sensor and speed sensor plugs to see if the tach jumped. no dice. I then unplugged them and replugged them. I will spray some contact cleaner on them and try again about 5pm today.
