Car started then died. Not DME relay (it is the computer!)

Look for .4 to .6 ohms in between the two screwed-on contacts at the bottom of the coil.
Then take out the little rubber plug ont he top, and test between the thing under it to the main output (where the wire to the distributor goes). Hope for something in the 5 to 7k range.

My coil was fine, though
Make sure those connections were fully dried out....I left mine wet with WD40 and lost all throttle response for a day or two before I figured I should let them dry a little more...

You can test the coil by taking the wire from the coil to the distributor off of the distributor and plugging a spark plug in the end. Lay the plug on a grounded, bare metal surface and crank the motor.
The sensors could be bad, you can get new ones for really cheap at Paragon.

Yes, that's definitely out of spec. Not to say that it's necessarily your problem, but it is not the way it should be.
I can't find a decent picture to show you how to test the secondary.....I'll have to take a picture of mine when I get home today.

I removed the wire from the #1 plug and put a tester on it. I cranked and got no spark. I am guessing if my speed/ref sensors are bad the coil will not send spark to the dist cap. I will check to see if I have spark going to the dist cap after work today. I also have a scope here at work that I could use. That would rule out the speed ref sensors right?
FYI my tach is still not moving....ever.
there is another guy at work here that drives an 85.5 944. I sent him an email and asked if I could try his computer to see if that failed on my car.

Might be a good idea while your at it check the charge leads. (On the turbo car, black and green(-) leads) Look for around 11 volts pulses out of the DME. Should be the same for the 944. See if it's charging the primary. Test is to check pulse charge.

using clarks garage when I check for the pulse from the speed/ref sensors, I am supposed to check at the computer harness below my passanger footwell right?

YES!!!!!
My computer is bad. I tested another computer from Tim (another rennlister and coworker) and it works! I am going to open my computer up and see if I can see any broken soder joints.
