Default Alternator Cooling Hose Missing

Hey Everyone,

During the PPI for my new car, the tech found that the alternator cooling hose was missing. He didn't seem to think this was a very big deal. Was thinking I would get it replaced eventually...should I be more concerned?

Will your alternator burn out more quickly? Yes.

Do I run the duct? no.

Neither of my two 944s have this hose, and I've yet to have any alternator issues over the past 7 years. Of course I'm sure I just jinxed it.

My 944 doesn't have one either.

Had the hose on my 944 but it was crushed pretty badly..so probably not much air getting back there. I just did an a/c delete but havent taken the hard lines out yet, so i cant fit the delete shroud on. No cooling hose..and being how lazy i am will not put it on for some time longer.

If you have a 951 and have the alternator in the stock location still, i think having the shroud at the least is a must to extend the life of the alternator. The heat from the turbo cant be good.

My 951 didn't have the cone or the hose. Just rebuilt the alternator and put a cone on it. Now looking for a hose.
