steering wheel
art said,
Could you elaborate on how you did this? I asked if this would be possible a few years ago and everyone reacted as if I were an extra-terrestrial. I wear a 36" pant length, so I know what you mean about long legs.
The one major thing I did to help comfort was space out the steering wheel by almost 2". I have long legs, so It really helps the driving position.

I ground off the rivets on the steering wheel where it is held to the collapsible hub and made spacers from (square) tubing. I then used some threaded rod and nuts (could use bolts) and bolted it back together. The horn pad will interfere with the nuts if they are too tall, but no probelms other than that. The rubber cover for the hub area does not cover things any more, some black tape cleaned it up for me. I have done the same thing on my 911.

i like the wheel extension idea, i assume that you had to lengthen the wire for the horn too? this is a very cool car, wish that you could have found the velour that you were looking for.
i think the steering wheel extension could be the answer to my back problems.
at the risk of sounding like a freak: i am 5'11" with 34" inseam....

Yes, the horn wire does need to be longer. I was actually quite happy with the seats I found. the black pinstripe would have been better, but these have worked out great. Lightweight, comfortable and a bit different.

Interior has orig carpets, faded but not bad. Seats as shown above, front and rear, dash cap which I put on with the dash out so hopefully it will last. I used some black plastic snap-in rivets to help it stay down. They look like they belong. Door panels were orig, needed a bit of massaging, they are roll-up window type so hard to replace. I used the pockets from the '86 which have an extended front section for a bit of customization.

had an 84 944 euro spec car, car was stripped down with the high comp motor and these really cool partial leather seats that said " PORSCHE " all over them, i mean about 40 times on each seat!! put a K and N on it , that car pulled really good. didnt realize what i had and sold it. ( college etc..)
car came into the states illegally and i ended up with it, long story, had a bitch of a time insuring it ...state farm said there no such VIN , i actually had to show them the car existed . it was kahlahari gold with deep brown carpet and those super cool seats !!!!
