PORSCHEPHILE 924 FTW!

I knew that smell... and the only hydraulic lines are in: brakes and clutch

not too much. I'm guessing it's the clutch hydraulic line, which is about $36.00, or if it's the brake line, buy a set of stainless brake lines... $65.00 http://www.paragon-products.com/product_p/por1200.htm

http://clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/clutch-02.htm there's how to get to the slave for the clutch line on bottom

clutch line on top is at the end of the arrow in this pic. unbolt, replace, bleed, and be done. then worry about fixing the other leaks... coolant leaks are generally easy to fix.

note* my pic lies.. it's the MASTER cylinder at the end of the blue hose. NOT the slave... that's on bottom...

agreed, my last PO has a receipt in my binder and the cam housing was leaking (rare, i know) he paid $27 in parts, and about $500 in labor. I'de go dig up the receipt, but its not important, its a $500+ bill for $15 gasket. no way i'de have a 944 and pay a mechanic, or any other car for that matter

Does that quote include a surcharge for their incompetence as well?

ATL, if you do decide to let Kerry take care if it, I can assure you that he knows these cars inside and out, I trusted him with all the stuff I couldnt handle in my 944S and I've always had pleasure doing business with him. He's very fair and honest. Even though its a NAPA service center, his Porsche techs used to work International Performance Center who did top quality work at fair prices.

hope you get it back on the road soon!

Based on your purchase price of that N/A, $1900 doesn't sound unreasonable for that small amount of work.

It's true. I installed wings on my NA and now it flies. On fire. Upsidedown.

Anyways...I like how the shop charges almost 2k for $100 in parts and maybe 3 hours in labor (including lunch).
