Default Are these Toyo RA1 Tires still usable?

I bought a track car with a bunch of wheels and tires and was wondering if these tires are still useable. There is a very distinct dip in the center of the tire from wear. What do you think?

I'd say yes, but not for much longer...

So I am safe to assume that as long as they are not chorded, I can use them even with uneven wear?

Should I put this on the front or the rear?

I would use them for autocrossing. Anything else involving higher speeds is a gamble, IMHO.

That dip may not be what it seems. From one pic I can see a lot of rubber built up along both sides of the groove/dip. Tires on/off the wheel? I would shave that track rubber off and see how bad the center looks. Good groove left so plenty before cording. Based on the pics I would sure give them a run in a DE, there you can give them a good workout in a safe manner. Just bite a liitle at time until you get a good feel of the grip/handling. Worth trying out at the least.

What size are the tires, and what size are the wheels (width primarily)?

I have a couple of tires that are not mounted and a couple that are mounted that looks like that. The size is a 185/60/13 mounted on 13x5.5" wheels which came with my 1983 Mazda RX7 track car. I bought into 1/2 of this car with trailer with my buddy so he can run with me at track events and this will be my backup car just in case my 88' 944 is out of commission, like it is right now.

I think I spun the #2 bearing on my last track event at Thunderhill. At least when I get my rebuild done, I can cross-drill the cranks and make it a realiable track car. Can't wait to get her finished and back on the track.
