Default Please Help, crashed my 924S need some parts....

I was driving a friend home this morning, it was one of those where I offered him a ride home and he felt bad accepting since he lived kinda far away, but I said I would do it.
If I had just kept my mouth shut.

Anyway, I dropped hime off, and start to make my way home.
There is a long sweeping right turn, I realize I am coming in too fast, maybe at 30mph.
It is snowing.

I brake to slow down, but the tires loose traction.

My new snow tires fail me.....

The car slid drivers side wheel first into a foot (maybe) high center divider.

My entire driver's side wheel is smashed in.

I completely bent my lower A arm, tie rod, the shock popped out of the top mount and it shattered.
The tire is ok, but the cookie wheel is bent.

Here is what I need, if anyone has any of there parts I would love to buy them...

-Driver's side lower A-arm p# 171 407 153 D

-1 complete front shock, with spring all together
My spring is still okay, but if I can get one shock and spring all together it would make it very easy for me to put back together.

-One 15x6 cookie cutter wheel.

-1 tie rod for steering rack
I am pretty sure my rack is still okay, and I can just replace the bent to **** tie rod.

I don't have any pics, since I had the car towed to my mom's to put in her garage, and I won't be able to get there to take things apart and check it out for good.

I was able to quickly remove the wheel and asses the damage visually.

Everything else like the brake, spindle, rotor, hub, is undamaged, basically the control arm and tie rod crumpled, and the shock cracked and popped out.

The fender and Carrera GT front bumper are repairable, the bumper has a huge crack that I'm going to have to fix....

I'm still reeling from the drama so sorry if this doesn't make sense...

A arms are cheap. I destroyed both of mine once, and got new ones overnighted for around $240 for the set (i think... it's been a while)

As for the shock, can't help you. Borys, that sucks. I've been there. Todd just got a new parts car IIRC, and I'm sure if he still has them, you could get parts for pretty inexpensive.

I'm glad the new Carrera GT bumper is repairable. That was the first thing i thought while reading this, that it had to be destroyed.

Hope everything works out ok.

I have early offset struts and used steel control arms in decent shape. The struts are heavy and wont be cheap to ship. Let me know if your interested though.

The struts are complete Boge's. Are about 4 years old and have 8k miles on them. Taken off my friends '85 when we upgaded to the turbo suspension. Id rather sell them as a pair however.

The control arms are used, dont know the mileage but balljoints are in good shape. I can send them to you for $20 shipped. Ive got no use for them.

Im sorry to hear about that. Ive got a very similar car to yours - Im working on doing the final paint work to the carrera body kit on my 924S though. I have an entire power rack for my 924s that needs a rebuild. I could sell you just a tie rod though. The inner's ends feel ok but you would have to replace the outer tie rod end on it. We could negotiate a price. You should verify that there hasnt been any other structual damage to the unibody as well as that big aluminum cross support under there though before investing in repairing all the damage. Hope your day goes better.

Borys, if you go for Technoduck's control arms, ball joints are dirt cheap. luckily the 924S uses the cartridge type, so, drill 3 rivets, slide old out, put new in, bolt down. you're good.

That sucks. This "snow" thing you speak of must be fun for driving around in. Hope you get your car fixed soon.

Thanks everybody, I just took a nap and feel a little better.

A 'lister has come through with a set of everything I need, for a great price.

Chris, I think the sway bar was ok, but when I go to pull the stuff apart I will let you know if I need it.

Yup def let me know Borys that thing is taking up space in my garage. Sorry to hear about the crash i almost did the same thing years ago in my 924S but a snow bank stopped me before hitting anything solid.

Btw i used to live in Oak Park Illinois is that near where you live, i loved that place.

yeah, mine was in the dry. I was showing off. 4 wheels, tires, and 2 A-arms later... I learned the error of my ways... surprisingly, I did not bend any tie rods

I'll let you know Chris.
I grew up in Elmwood Park, which is right next to Oak Park. It's a great place.

I still need a 15x6 cookie wheel if anyone has one.

Also, I may have lost one of my vents for the 931 nose, so if anyone's got one, I might need that too.

Sorry to hear about this - driving over the weekend with the snow was no fun. Will this car need some frame straightening - can you bend the a-arm without damaging / shifting the mounting points?
