Default What size track tires..? 16"

been autox'ing and DE'ing the last two years on 15" tires. THis year will be in my turbo w/ 16" wheels - stock sized phones - what size tires should i run- thinking victoracers or most likely RA1's. I know i'll need 205's and 225's but not sure on the sidewall or exact sizes...i could probl call TJ and ask but i wanted a consensus on sizes from pple who track turbos...

I run 245/45 on my 9s, and 225/50 on my 8s. 930 fuchs.

Oh, and get some Ra-1s. I am actually replacing a set of victoracers that have been sitting foreverr, and I corded them at rennstock last year.

i have the stock phone dials to put my track tires on, and no i dont have 8's for the front so 7's and 8's. So you can run 245's on 8" wheels? I guess i can run 225's up front since my n/a had 225's all round on 7" n/a phones. That would bump my sizing up to 225's and 245's, so i guess i need 225/50/16's and 245/45/16's right?

RA1's are good for DE's, but you'll be giving up time in auto-x on them. Victo's are way faster at auto-x and of course Hoosiers or 710's are even faster for auto-x.

Depends on what you're going to be using them for...

i loved my victoracers. Problem is im not planning on doing as much autox and i am planning on doing more DE events. Hoosiers would be great if i could afford to replaced them a few times a year.

For DE's, RA1's are king. If you're not going use them on the street, get them shaved. They'll last just as long, but they'll be much faster.

xboost there is a very detailed discussion of Ra-1s on the racing board. In particular, several recommendations against having them shaved if you want more days out of them.

well, i have a few buddies that run these at track events all year long so shaving/not shaving and how to maintain them is all stuff ive been over on these. Main question i had was the sizing- so 225/50/16 and 245/45/16 for 7/8" factory phones? (and no im not getting 8" fronts as ive been over the advantages and disadvantages of doing that-would be nice to rotate them though)

Where are you ordering them from? I am thinking about getting mine in those same sizes on Monday from AIM.
