These are small & some are hard to see, so I've included a few- I've seen a few dif lengths, since people buy them from various places- some are a bit too long- just depends, but I've always liked the look- it sort of started w/16v VW GTi & Sciroccos- was a quick way to tell if the car was a 16v vs an 8v, as were the tell-tale 16v tear-drop wheels. Anyway...

Edit- Wow- those came out a lot larger & clearer than I expected...

I was going to get the 968 antenna, but i cant justify spending $50 on something when i only use the radio maybe once a week to check the AM band traffic!

Honestly i am to lazy to go out to my car and take a picture of the antenna, but this is pretty much exactly what i used as an antenna...works well and is only $15-20 depending where you go (BestBuy, Circuit City..etc).

If you use this antenna, just buy an extra couple of feet of antenna wire. You will probably need another 3-4 feet, though i opted for an extra 6-ft i think. I just coiled it and ziptied it behind the radio.

Ok, that NEEDs to get fixed. After this post I think I may go the non-ant. windshield and 968 antenna. Looks good, and cost effective.

When i saw the picture of the thing on Crutchfield i thought it was going to be this huge black thing in my field of view. I was going to route the thing over to the rear hatch, just under the 3rd brake light. That was an even worse solution and would have required another 4-5 feet of antenna wire. Over the rear view mirror was the best i could come up with, and im happy i did it this way!

I ran the wire under the passenger side carpet, and up the side of the dashboard that is covered when you close the door. I took the a-pillar trim off and routed the wire up through here, then with the headliner removed, routed it right under neath that. You just need to be careful with how you route it up on the a-pillar. Its a tight squeeze but if you align everything right it will fit fine.

Head liner is easy. Take off the sun visors, a-pillar trim and also remove the dome light. I cant remember if there was anything else. Its very striaght foward.
