I raise your e30 with an m3 drive train for a real e30 m3 with the e36 m3 drivetrain.

Just traded mine in on an 00' Audi S4. Certainly not by choice though. I'd buy another 951 or S2 in a heartbeat. Fantastic cars.

I'd also second the Elise, I got to drive my friends 05' for about a half hour this last weekend. I couldn't believe how responsive the car is. The handling is so spot on its almost scary, not to mention the crazy fast acceleration. Totally unusable as anything more than a "for fun" car.

I considered an RX-8, similar size and performance to the 944, but the interior is way too cramped.
Also, uses a lot of fuel. decided to buy a 944 and could'nt be happier!

idk why everyone thinks the m3 > 944t...an m3(e36) isn't really that fast...they handle well but they also cost a lot of money to mod...10k in motor work to a 944t would be way more fun then 10k in an m imo

I'd take a built e30 m3, or an e36 m3 with a euro motor; I'd also consider a C4 or C5 vette with long tube headers, cam, headwork, full exhaust, intake and software or possibly a mid 90s NSX; at certain times, I've even briefly thought of 300ZX TTs, 2nd gen turbo rx7s, SVT cobras and Lighnings. A ferrari 348gtb or lambo lp5000qv would be awesome too, but not really practical for daily driving or within in financial reach of this 20 year old...

I went with a 968. Very happy with it, though I have had to do just a little maintenance.

Considered a Boxster, but the 968's exclusivity and more power made it worth the extra age & potential maintenance of the car.

Also considered a 993, but it costs significantly more and would be a whole new learning curve to be able to work on. My mechanic also suggested that it was not the car to work on at home.

I love the P-car, but some of these BMWs would be attractive options and what I would consider if I needed real back seats.
