Default Back to its former self!

Some of you may remember my accident back in November,

Well i finnaly got back another 931 nose panel from paint.. and after a few months of screwing around with the alighment on everything i believe i am pretty much back to where it was before the accident.

I picked everything up from a body shop that was reccomended by a few local guys here on the forum and they did a great job. The panel had a dent (UPS smashed the box) and a crease in the metal and it amazes me how there is no sign of any repair work, even on the underside.

It took some time to find a decent nose panel..i had noticed both which i came across had the same exact crease along the center due to an air vane which is right underneath them on the 924 Turbo cars. I thought to put two support bracket on the underside of the panel to 'strengthen' the area to prevent any dents or anything caused by people sitting on my car (which is a huge no no). Any i thought of this after it was painted and just decided to JBWeld the mending plates (made for wood joints) to the underside..

And here is after some time spent getting everything to line up right..

There are still a few minor alignment issues, mainly with the hood..the gap between the header panel and the hood is pretty big, but spraying the lip of the nose panel and the area it lays onto flat black sort of makes it look smaller. A couple of other small things still remain, but its all stuff i can live with. A big thanks to all of those who gave me advice on how to fix everything..you know who you are!

And something i thought was amusing.. i am using the same hood crest which was on the destoyed nose panel!

Just wondering; why are there 9 air fresheners hanging from the roll bar?

Its a great conversation piece.. but really i am just to lazy to take them off..and i looooooove the mango smell. I am going to see how many i can get on there before the tech inspectors deem it "unsafe".

Energy9, i was pissed i missed last sunday. Looked like a fun course and one of the usual top 3 that beat me didnt show up! Hopefully i will be problem free come July.

Is your bumper pushed in? or is it stock? Hard to tell in the pictures but in the accident picture it isn't.

Bumper is not pushed in, considered doing it but with my luck i will get backed into the day i do it.

Tom.. was considering going to Limerock with the NNJ club, not sure if i am going to..way to expensive. Not sure about Pocono, but probably not. Really cant afford it right now.. not to mention i gotta renew my insurance at the end of July, thats $1700 down the drain. I also dont think any of the sets of tires i have would pass tech.. . The SP8000's you gave me would, but the fronts i got with the D90's have two plugs in them...each! Tires on the black wheels are completley bald in the back.. and my everyday D90's are starting to dry rot a little. Hopefully ill be able to buy some new rubber by mid July.

I think it's fugly!!!!!

Now that you have the harness bar, I'm looking forward to seeing many more trees hanging from it.

By the way, I've been thinking about track tires since sunday. Tired of being 3 seconds behind. May try to get an extra set of 16" phone dials or something and put slicks on them. We'll see.
