Could the tub be used a base for a race car? Seems like it is already stripped?

Hey man, I am really sorry about your car. I wish you the best of luck with everything. I know you can't entirely replace your baby, but eventually you'll be able to come across another one that suits you. Take care and be happy you weren't in the car at the time.

Sorry about the car... sad to see. You'll get it all worked out and have another one soon.

Fire around the alternator... it got so hot in that area that it melted the IC pipe! Hard to tell from the photos where it started.

Am I missing something. I didnt see any pics.

This truly sucks. If it were me and it was my car Id probably play in traffic.

Good luck with the insurance. Tom R would be a good source.

This is another example of the virtues of carrying an agreed value policy however. For these cars where NADA and KBB rarely offer an accurate number on value, I think its the only way to go, even if you are running a plain jane 944. Ive done the insurance slugfest bit too on generic daily drivers and its not fun. I can only imagine how worse it is on cars like these where market prices are all up and down the chart.

Not all states allow an agreed value policy. Collector policies are availible, but 2500 miles of year is quat to me.

Wow Jeff...That sucks to say the least. I know how is being 18 and w/o transportation (there right now) Do you still have your 84 N/A? If so, I found the solution to the oil pressure problems...

Man that car looks like death, something from a horror movie. Like if the movie Christine had a 944 instead of a 58 plymouth fury that drove through the gas station and went ablaze. Anyone know what Im talkin about? The only problem is that it doesnt automatically put itself back together like new.

Honestly dude that is some horrible carnage, I hope it's up there in 944 heaven somewhere along with its brothers. Truly sorry for your loss man, If it was me.... I dont even know to what extent I would freak out. sounds like you're handeling this well, and another will come along soon. Good luck getting this sqared away.

I am new here, but have a little experiance with this. First of all, sorry to see this. It is truley a tragedy.

Try your buddy's homeowners insurance. I breifly scanned the posts, so someone may have said that allready.

I had this happen at one time and the homeowners paid off some of it. THey did not pay the full value, but we got a couple thousand at least. It was actually a motorhome that burned from a faulty propane connection.

Shadow, not sure what you mean by 3rd party, but if you mean an aftermarket solutuion, Rennbay and Pauerman both sell replacement lines including the short line.

I believe most general non-collector insurance still offer agreed value options on the policy, no policy restrictions. I know State Farm does -- a buddy has it. I think the problem is a lot of the insurance salesmen dont even know their underwriter offers it so you have to ask.

I think State Farm doesnt call it Agreed Value. They call it "Buyoff Value" or something.
