Yikes! Sorry to hear it..... That must be a very painful experience.

As for dealing with the insurance company, digging up and organizing all your receipts and documentation will come in handy as well. I'm sure any pictures will also be helpful.

Zerbrennen dann Rennen

My 951 must have suffered the same fate, but thanks to some hard work and some Nine-44, the car is running again! Yay!

Sorry to hear this. Do you know what caused the fire? Keep your head up, us rennlisters dont give up that easy.

Ditto, that is rough.

. . .as far as what caused it, I would bet my right ******** that it was one of the fuel lines.

Thanks for all the replys guys, it means alot to me right now. We are thinking some leaves underneath the car started the fire, although were not 100 percent sure. Im really still in total shock. You guys have no idea what its like to be spraying the front of the car (while the fire was still little) with exstinguishers but just not be able to get it out. I was in total panic. Tom, I will PM you and I would definatly appreciate your help.

I dont know what my steps are next. Im 18, have no way of getting around, and how no extra funds to help with the funding of a new car. My parents are helping me out the best they can. Its tough to poor your hear and soul into something (and every penny you have) and just see it burn infront of your eyes.

Then, to rub salt in the wound, the cop says to me "maybe mommy and daddy will feel bad for you and buy you a new porsche" Yeah, thanks for all your help... ***.

I appreciate the support. And please, dont park your car ontop of leaves, it doesnt have to be much.

Jeff, if the car is rebuildable and you decide to rebuild, a la Perry951's car... let me know. I have four months off this summer and will be helping out another Rennlister with some of his 944's, id be more than happy to help in any extra spare time i have.

I know its kinda early to figure out your options, but just keep it in mind.

I know exactly how you feel.
I lost my 86 to a fire after I had just done all of the big ticket/long time items on it.

It sucks, and there's nothing I can say that will make you feel better.
Good luck with the insurance process, mine was pretty painless. Up here they think these cars are worth their weight in gold. Hopefully your insurance company is kind.
